Piedmont and PSA IATA Codes

edit

> Hi Cliffb, I have been the one updating the IATA code for both of those airlines. The reason why is that EN is Air Dolomiti not Piedmont Airlines and JS is Air Koryo not PSA Airlines. So since they are operated by US Airways Express and their code is US, it would have to be US. Sorry if this has been driving you crazy. RokinRyan

As an employee of Piedmont Airlines, you are incorrect in "updating" the IATA codes for our airline. Apparently you have missed the details about IATA codes that "Controlled duplicates are issued to regional airlines whose destinations are not likely to overlap, such that some codes are shared by two different airlines."

Just as EN is the IATA code for Piedmont Airlines, my company ID also includes EN as a part of my employee number. We also have tail numbers on some of our aircraft that use our IATA code. Please view http://www.airliners.net/open.file/0639036/M/ and you'll see what I mean.

This chart might also lend some credibility to my statements. http://thehub.usairways.com/travel/2006/0428_BoardingPriorityChart.pdf Read what it says in the blue box in the upper right corner for "active employees". Also reference the row for S3 and S4 travel as it pertains to active employees and retirees of JS and EN.

In reference to your statement above, Piedmont and PSA are not "operated by US Airways Express". There is no corporation known as US Airways Express. Rather, US Airways Inc (US), Piedmont Airlines (EN), and PSA Airlines (JS) are all subsidiaries of the corporate entity known as US Airways Group. It is exactly the opposite of your statement. There is a general group of flights by nine regional carriers that comprise the marketing identity of "US Airways Express". Some of those flights are OPERATED by Piedmont Airlines, just as some US Aiways Express flights are OPERATED by PSA Airlines.

just an fyi, you're discussing IATA codes on my user talk page, which probably isn't the best spot.. I've copied the discussion over to Talk:Piedmont Airlines which is a better spot.. —Cliffb 02:25, 8 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi Rokin Ryan, I've been following your recent edits to articles that I watch and I'm very impressed. One thing that would help out other editors would be edit summaries. Let me know if you have any questions on my talk page... Cheers! —Cliffb 02:46, 8 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi Rikin Ryan. Where did you find that the ICAO code for North Central Airlines was "FWD"? From what I know it was "NCA" thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.177.171.91 (talk) 22:27, 31 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Air Greenland and Miami Air International

edit

It looks like both of these airlines have been assigned the GL IATA code. -- Hawaiian717 (talk) 06:38, 24 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Airlinecodes.co.uk seems to be less reliable than it used to be; I can't find Miami Air at all. And IATA does assign duplicate codes for airlines that aren't likely to overlap (see Airline codes), which would seem to fit Miami Air (a charter airline and thus won't show up in a reservation system) and Air Greenland. -- Hawaiian717 (talk) 20:47, 24 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

January 2010

edit

Please note that the established format for listing flight changes is [begins 21 June] and [ends 21 June]. We do not use starts, stops, commences or any other term. I have gone ahead and fixed the changes you made to ATL accordingly. In future, please keep the norm in mind. Thanks, Jasepl (talk) 07:17, 7 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

  • That is splitting hairs. Start and begin means the same thing, but w/e, I won't use start. RokinRyan

Problem with your custom signature

edit

You have a custom signature set in your account preferences. A change to Wikipedia's software has made your current custom signature incompatible with the software.

The problem: Your preferences are set to interpret your custom signature as wikitext. However, your current custom signature does not contain any wikitext.

The solutions: You can reset your signature to the default, or you can fix your signature.

Solution 1: Reset your signature to the default:
  1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
  2. Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
  3. Remove anything in the Signature: text box. (It might already be empty.)
  4. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page. (The red "Restore all default settings" button will reset all of your preference settings, not just the signature.)
Solution 2: Fix your custom signature:
  1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
  2. Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
  3. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page.

More information about custom signatures is available at Wikipedia:Signatures#Customizing how everyone sees your signature. If you have followed these instructions and still want help, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Signatures. Thank you. 18:03, 7 September 2020 (UTC)
