Squid giant synapse edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions to the article Squid giant synapse, but for legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition was deleted under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text—which means allowing other people to modify it—then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later."

You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here. You can also leave a message on my talk page. -- Consumed Crustacean (talk) 09:37, 21 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please, again, don't upload content which is copyrighted by another individual under a non-GFDL license or it will have to be deleted. -- Consumed Crustacean (talk) 10:04, 21 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
If you do own the copyright, please reply. There are steps to take in that case just to be sure we know it. Though, to be honest, putting full journal papers in the Wikipedia isn't typically recommended (it being an encyclopedia and all) -- Consumed Crustacean (talk) 10:07, 21 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for Image:Squid RL 1 .jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Squid RL 1 .jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 11:06, 21 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Edward (Ted) G. Jones edit

A tag has been placed on Edward (Ted) G. Jones requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
