Im leaving Wikipedia, this isn't a community of helpful editors I thought it was.

We're all helpful. It's just that your agenda here is to promote a particular subject, which goes against the rules here. If you want to contribute articles about notable subjects, you will always be welcome back. ~Anachronist (talk) 00:59, 2 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of The Chute (2016) edit

The article The Chute (2016) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unremarkable new low-budget film on Vimeo. No evidence of notability or impact, and indistinguishable from an advert.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. January 2017 edit

Hello, I'm Cmr08. I wanted to let you know that one or more external links you added to Lewis Wright (book) have been removed because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. Infobox advice edit

Hello, I'm Zackmann08. Thank you for your recent contributions to Clifford Ray's Dave the Taxi Driver. I noticed that when you added the image to the infobox, you added it as a thumbnail. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this:

|image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]]

Instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do:

|image=SomeImage.jpg.

There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as |caption=Some image caption. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recently added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks! Speedy deletion nomination of Chaz Dowdell edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Chaz Dowdell requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Zackmann08 (Talk to me/What I been doing) 21:33, 1 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

I want to respond to your contested deletion on this article, which I have deleted. It is irrelevant that he is an actual person, or that he has his own independent company. Mere existence is not an inclusion criterion. Only notability matters. What makes him different to other actors who have Wikipedia articles is that other actors meet the criteria in Wikipedia:Notability, Wikipedia:Notability (people), and specifically WP:NACTOR. Chaz Dowdell doesn't seem to merit an article here. Maybe someday, but not yet.
You also wrote: "If my reason isn't good enough for the slightest consideration then I don't think Wikipedia is a good place to raise awareness for this young public figure."
That's exactly right. Wikipedia is not a place to raise awareness about anyone because we include articles on subjects that are already notable. You can't have an article if you're up-and-coming. You must have already arrived. ~Anachronist (talk) 00:15, 2 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Clifford Ray's Dave the Taxi Driver edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Clifford Ray's Dave the Taxi Driver, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
