Image:W J Wills.jpg edit

Hi, where did the current image come from? Is it a modified version of the one I found or is it from a different source? I'd like to get rid of the colour cast but make sure the best quality image is used. Diceman 16:44, 21 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Great job on digging up the photograph! I've basically one-upped you and uploaded the photo, having edited out the frame. - Diceman 05:43, 22 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thomas Embling edit

Thanks for adding the info on camels to the Thomas Embling page. Do you have a reference for this material? Shelbypark (talk) 11:44, 17 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Category:Places associated with the Burke and Wills expedition edit

I have proposed that Category:Places associated with the Burke and Wills expedition, which you created, should be converted to a list. Your input would be welcome at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2009 December 23#Category:Places_associated_with_the_Burke_and_Wills_expedition. --22:47, 23 December 2009 (UTC)

Citation of Dr Thomas Bergin edit

Hi Dave, I am the german translator of your article Burke and Wills expedition. The German Version (de:Expedition von Burke und Wills) is currently reviewed. In the review I was asked who Thomas Bergin is. This question refers to the passage "An in-depth study of Wright's action formed a part of Dr Tom Bergin's 1982 MA Thesis at the University of New England. Dr Bergin showed a lack of money and too few pack animals to carry the supplies meant Wright was placed in an unenviable position. His requests to the Exploration Committee were not acted on until early January, by which time the hot weather and lack of water meant the party moved incredibly slowly. They were harassed by the Bandjigali and Karenggapa Murris, and three of the men, Dr Ludwig Becker, Charles Stone and William Purcell, died from malnutrition on the trip. On his way north, Wright camped at Koorliatto Waterhole on the Bulloo River while he tried to find Burke's tracks to Cooper Creek. While he was there he met Brahe who was on his way back from the Cooper to Menindee." This of course leads to the question if this Master Thesis is available or citable. I'm sure you have read Bergin's Thesis anywhere and I would ask you if you could give me the data (is the Thesis available, what title does it have, what page... you probably know what I mean). And I would like to ask you if there is any literature that deals with the expedition and gives a good over it. The list of literature is way too long for german Wikipedia and I arbitrarily shortened it. Even worse, almost nothing is available in Germany. If you can recommend anything I would try hard and get hands on that book. I'm sure I will contact you again. --Deino Wanthers (talk) 18:25, 14 June 2010 (UTC) PS: Sorry for that 0-4 defeat yesterday :DReply

Wills's date of death edit

Hi. Regarding this edit summary:

If that's the case, what is the following sentence doing in the article:

  • The exact date of their deaths is unknown, but has generally been accepted to be 28 June 1861.

Tasmania edit

Hi Rocketfrog, I'm trying to find some information about the time John King spent in Tasmania (Revision as of 09:01, 26 April 2010 →‎After the expedition: King's recovery and trip to Tasmania). I'm seeking records of his passage there on the SS Black Swan or any information about where he stayed and how long he was there for. Any guidance would be appreciated. With thanks in advance Kyliean (talk) 23:10, 5 June 2018 (UTC)KylieReply

2019 Northern Pride RLFC season moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, 2019 Northern Pride RLFC season, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. {{subst:Afc decline|full=Draft:2019 Northern Pride RLFC season|cv=no|reason=nn|details=|reason2=|details2=|comment= I guess you copied and pasted the URLs when you cited your source and without indicated some parameters, as the links (sources) lead to nowhere. Thus, we ,the reviewers, could not verify the the content claimed. Pls use either (1) Template:Cite web - "Most commonly used parameters in horizontal format" or (2) use Using VisualEditor when cite your sources. Secondly, pls remove the details of each match but provide brief description of the match info as per [[2018 Brisbane Broncos season#Fixtures| HERE] - pls provide inline citation of each match by adding additional column and name the column "Ref". Also pls remove all the sponsor, as there are no sources to backup the claimed and they look promotional article rather than an encyclopedic article.|sig=yes}}
