Speedy deletion nomination of The Panama News

edit

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on The Panama News requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Inks.LWC (talk) 05:03, 7 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

According to the stub I deleted, this is not a newspaper but a website. Websites without any evidence of notability are subject to speedy deletion. --Orange Mike | Talk 05:12, 7 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
There is clearly a misunderstanding here. You must write the article first; then you put it on Wikipedia. I don't pretend to be an expert on Panama (although I have union brothers in the Zone). If you really believe this website is notable, then create a draft article in a sandbox (I'll even create one for you, at User:Roboo.jack/Panama News), and once you think it's ready to publish, drop me a note and I'll have a look at it. Fair enough? --Orange Mike | Talk 05:33, 7 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
Sloppy wording on my part. I meant that we still have locals in the former Zone. I'm not that clueless a Yanqui! --Orange Mike | Talk 05:43, 7 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Please do not use styles that are unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles, as you did in Chagres River. There is a Manual of Style that should be followed. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 05:17, 7 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi, Roboo! I just wanted to thank you for providing a link to a soft-copy of Russell's The Principles of Mathematics in the eponymous article. Next time I revisit my paper copy for further study, or for reference, I'll be able to display other pages on my computer screen for easy comparison to the one I'm reading! I love this book dearly, so thank you, very much! Best,  – OhioStandard (talk) 05:46, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Your userpage in a category

edit

Your userpage User:Roboo.jack/Panama News has a category, and so appears in Category:Panama.
As the guideline on userpages describes, this is undesired. It is suggested that you edit the userpage to prevent this showing. It can be done by adding a semicolon (:) before the word Category, like this: [[:Category:Panama]].-DePiep (talk) 09:38, 1 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
