Welcome

edit

Hello, Robhegel, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I notice that one of the first articles you created appears to be an article about yourself. This is a common mistake made by new Wikipedians—as this is an encyclopedia, we wouldn't expect to have an article about every contributor. Your user page, however, is a great place to write about yourself, making sure to stay within user page guidelines. Just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit it normally.

The page you created about yourself may well be deleted from the encyclopedia. If it is deleted and you wish to retrieve its contents, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Proposed deletion of Rob hegel

edit

The article Rob hegel has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Autobiography

edit

Please do not write or add to an article about yourself, as you apparently did at Rob hegel. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Rob hegel has been reverted.

The external link(s) you added or changed (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=goc5wF50-Xo, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1TKGqy0PZbk) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the information you linked to is indeed in violation of copyright, then such information should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file, or consider linking to the original.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Reliable sources

edit

The proposed deletion of Rob hegel requires that you add reliable sources to the article. The sources you have added:

  • http://www.robhegel.com/ : Your own website
  • http://www.45cat.com/record/pb12009 An image of a 45 label
  • 60sgaragebands.com: An obscure blog about 60s garage bands somehow credited to Mike Dugo, with a reference to Dugo's single IMDb credit
  • A reference that is just the title of one his tracks
  • Another link to the image of the 45 label

None of these can be considered a reliable source, so the proposed deletion template has been restored. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 00:52, 2 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Categories

edit

Each one should go in its own link and on its own line: [[category:1980s American Bandstand]] [[category:NBC network shows]] (ignore nowiki) Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 01:12, 2 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Adminhelp

edit

Should go on this page. I removed it from the article. See template:Adminhelp for info on how to use. BTW: You probably shouldn't use it without good cause. Try the wp:teahouse instead. Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 01:31, 2 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
