re: edit to Gonzaga College High School

edit

Greetings Robertburgoyne!

I have recently reverted an edit that you made to this article, and want to explain why I did so.

One of the core policies at wikipedia is its policy on verification. This is coupled to a guideline on the need to use reliable sources. That is, edits must be supported by third party reliable sources: newspapers, journals, magazines, etc. Blogs, private websites, and message boards are almost exclusively not accepted as a reliable source.

In addition, for liability reasons, there is a policy on including biographical information about living people. It is doubly critical that extraordinary claims, such as you are asserting, be supported by reliable third party sources. This is not only for the potential protection of subjects being libeled, but to protect the site against potential lawsuits.

I invite you to re add your edit, but it is extremely critical that it be accompanied by supporting, neutral resources.

I wish you the best of luck in editing! LonelyBeacon (talk) 03:09, 8 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
