Please read edit

Please read WP:VANDAL before patrolling recent changes. Thanks, --Ashleyyoursmile! 05:25, 7 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Ashleyyoursmile, I did in fact read it long before I started RC patrolling, and I read it again just now to be sure that I didn’t miss anything. Is there something in particular you think I should focus on? Thanks so much for your comment, and please feel free not to remove or unnecessarily escalate the warnings I leave on user talk pages after I revert their disruptive edits. Hi Rob, nothing in particular I just wanted to make sure that you correctly classify vandalism and disruptive edits, and issue the warning as such. Thank you for the work on the project and hope you have a great week. :) --Ashleyyoursmile! 04:45, 8 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Vandalism on White slavery article edit

Hello. I write to you as you seem to have an interest in the article White slavery. It is now being heavily vandalized/censured by a user who gives the impression of having an agenda (appears to incorrectly claim that no slavery occurred in Baghdad or among the Moors in Al-Andalus). The article needs to be proctected against this, particularly since several other attempts of the same kind have been made before. I would have reverted it myself, but my health (I suffer from anxiety) does not permit me to engage in any kind of conflicts. I also wonder: perhaps it would be a good idea to place the article under some kind of permanent protection? Some articles, if I am correct in my observation, are protected because their content make them particularly exposed to vandalism. The article White slavery is very controversial, so perhaps it warrants such protection? It is just a suggestion. My best greetings--Aciram (talk) 01:30, 14 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Aciram Thank you for your suggestion. It looks like there is sockpuppetry as well. I just requested protection without warning the new sock. Hopefully a reviewing admin will look at the page history and block both of the socks. Rob experienced IP (talk) 04:13, 14 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
Thank you very much. When I look at the contribution list of User Moaqasaxz12, it appears that they go through articles and exchange the word "islamic", "Muslim" and similar to "Arab" or other words of ethnicity. The impression I get from this user is not constructive: it appears that the article above is not the only article they do this to, although it is the most extreme example.--Aciram (talk) 14:18, 14 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
I am sorry, some of the edits I referred to above were made by Xwasx12s. I have difficulty telling them apart, but the issue is the same, regardless.--Aciram (talk) 14:22, 14 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
This appears to be part of a several-months-long pattern of socking, all with this emphasis of exchanging Muslim for Arab, by a string of accounts ending in some combination of an x, an s or z, and the number 12. Agricolae (talk) 15:16, 18 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Ottoman slavery edit

Hi rob can we discuss the issue of slavery to the whites? To begin with, I repeated the article on what the article was very wrong and covered with many errors that no person would accept. Attributing the Ottoman slavery to the inhabitants of North Africa and the Middle East is a great injustice. Likewise, Arab slavery must be separated from Ottoman slavery in order to differentiate it . As for the slavery of the Iberian peninsula, this never happened. Rather, slavery in the Iberia peninsula was practiced against the Africans, as well as the slavery of the Saqliba only. Moaqasaxz12 (talk) 05:48, 14 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi Moaqasaxz12, welcome to Wikipedia. I'm not Rob, but I'm just dropping by from the history of the article you're discussing. When people have content disputes they're discussed on the article's talk page, not on user talk pages. In this case, you should create a discussion at Talk:White slavery and invite interested users to take part using the {{ping}} template in a neutral manner.
