User:Rnorman345/Patrick Appleford edit

Hi, I've moved the article you created to User:Rnorman345/Patrick Appleford, as it's clearly not ready to go "live" as an article. Please expand and/or provide some sources, and use requests for feedback if necessary. cheers, Rd232 talk 13:51, 4 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi rd232, I have not given up on this am asking friends at the time for confirmation; what will count? I notice that you are semi retired from Wiki. What does that mean? all best Rnorman345 (talk) 16:13, 31 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Change to method edit

Hi xaosflux, Ricky81682, Re: User:Rnorman345/Patrick Appleford I have, at last, found Patrick Appleford and he is still alive and ‘with it’. I have spoken with him and he has agreed that I can add a page for him and that he will review the information that is written. I would plan to add a page for ‘The Twentieth Century Church Light Music Group’ which will refer to the Patrick Appleford page as well as Geoffrey Beaumont for whom a page exists. I note that you have now deleted the page; where do I go from here? All best, Richard

Your draft article, Draft:Patrick Appleford edit

Hello, Rnorman345. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Patrick Appleford".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by one of two methods (don't do both): 1) follow the instructions at WP:REFUND/G13, or 2) copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Draft:Patrick Appleford}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, and click "Save page". An administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. HasteurBot (talk) 16:01, 13 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

Patrick Appleford: fresh attempt at article. edit

You recently emailed me about the new article "Patrick Appleford".

News of his recent death prompted me to look on Wikipedia. To my surprise, I found that there was no existing article about him at all. So I have drafted a fresh one, and I hope it has enough "reliable sources" to stay.

I see that there had been a previous article, but that had been deleted, and its content was unavailable to me. (Your email had suggested that I had removed part of the text. I hadn't. By the time I arrived a couple of days ago, there was nothing at all to begin with.)

Thanks for your interest in this writer; one whose hymns and settings I have been singing for a few decades.

Can I suggest that we continue any discussion about the WP article on the article's own talk page? (Email is poor for such discussion; using your talk page (as I do here) is better; but best is the article's own talk page.)

All the best. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Rnorman345&action=edit&section=6 Feline Hymnic (talk) 10:36, 16 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi FM I was not suggesting that you had removed any text I know who did that some time ago. I do not know how to use W I was told that my article had been moved BUT it had been deleted. as you have the new page do you want to go from here? Pat was Clergy at St Giles Camberwell in 1960 61 when he was at SPG. I used to serve 0600 Saturday Mass for him and a gang of us would sit in his room in the Vicarage talking about this and that; he would play his piano and sang e.g. newspaper articles to plainsong chant etc. He also played on my piano when he came up to home. I made contact with him in Chelmsford when he was back from Africa. I have added a line to the article's page.2A00:23C6:6092:1701:A166:EBAF:6185:A577 (talk) 12:30, 16 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the reply. A clarification: in Wikipedia, no-one "owns" a page. While an article has a creator, that creator has no special privileges or entitlement. So it is not "my" article; it is just as much yours (or anyone elses's). I'm currently on holiday, so unable to do much serious work on any articles. By all means leave information on his talk page, preferably with what Wikipedia calls "reliable sources" (e.g. links to well-respected websites, online newspapers, etc.) and I'll try to review it in a few days. All the best. Feline Hymnic (talk) 12:38, 18 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
