Annotated Bibliography Activity Source: Malcolm X; with the assistance of Alex Haley (1992) [1965]. The Autobiography of Malcolm X. New York: One World. ISBN 978-0-345-37671-8.

Scholarship As the source is an autobiography on Malcolm X it inherently speaks to the background of the author and the level of expertise they have on the topic in question. As the Wikipedia page is a biography on Malcolm X the most knowledgeable person on the topic would be Malcolm X himself. The source is a book published in the United States and the information within the book is from a series of in-depth interviews between Malcolm X and Alex Haley who coauthored the book, perhaps the information isn't independently verifiable as the only source for it would've been Malcolm X.

Context It was published October 29, 1965 soon after the assassination of Malcolm X hence it was a very contemporary topic and relevant for it's time. The purpose was to highlight Malcolm's rise in is political career and the range of philosophies he perpetuated.

Content The autobiography captures the complete life of Malcolm X from early childhood to his peak as a human rights activist. The extent to which the information is fact can contested whoever due to the number of sources within the book itself it can be regarded accurate enough to be used as a reliable source. The style itself of the autobiography is narrative which lends itself to the dramatics of life however, it is true to the facts.
