RJ, User:SlamDiego seems to believe that you are a sockpuppet of mine. I know that this is not the case. Please verify. Thanks, Samwisep86 17:55, 30 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sockpuppetry edit

I have not investigated these allegations, so I'd like to say that letting you know a bit more about this is not an indication that I either support or don't support to allegations. That said, if you are not a sockpuppet of this other user, there are two ways to demonstrate it. One is check your contributions and his (on the tool bar to the left that says "User Contributions".) If you've both made edits are the same time or within a few seconds of each other, then it's unlikely that you are sockpuppets. It's time consuming to check, but perhaps worth doing. If you decide to use this information to try and convince the user that has accused you of sockpuppetry, arrange it neatly and be nice. See WP:DIFF for a good way of citing edits.

The other way is to do a request for checkuser on yourself. Often they are asked for by third parties to compare the IP addresses of other users, but you can request one on yourself and this other user. A checkuser can demonstrate whether or not you and this user are operating from the same IP. You should also know that if you and the user have used the same computer to edit wikipedia, a checkuser will likely bring that up as well and then you might be blocked.

From a brief read it seems that the reason you are accused of sockpuppetry is that you and the other user have edited the same article and share a similar view or writing style. It's not unreasonable of you to ask the user that labeled you as a sock (politely, righteous indignation won't help you) to be more specific about why he or she thinks you are a sock of this other user. He should be able to provide more evidence than the fact that you have edited the same articles.

Occasionally people are accused of being socks when they are not, and if you aren't and are willing to take the steps, there isn't any reason why you can't demonstrate this. If it is truly an unwarranted allegation, you have my apologies in advance. Cheers. Dina 22:41, 30 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

New RfM edit

A request for mediation has been filed with the Mediation Committee that lists you as a party. The Mediation Committee requires that all parties listed in a mediation must be notified of the mediation. Please review the request at Wikipedia:Requests for mediation/Phi Kappa Psi, and indicate whether you agree or refuse to mediate. If you are unfamiliar with mediation, please refer to Wikipedia:Mediation. There are only seven days for everyone to agree, so please check as soon as possible.

I have agreed to mediate this dispute. Please take a look at the preliminary questions at Wikipedia talk:Requests for mediation/Phi Kappa Psi. Thanks, WjBscribe 02:32, 31 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

RJ: To be sure of proceeding, we'll need you to separately confirm acceptance of the mediator. —SlamDiego←T 12:59, 2 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Phi Kappa Psi edit

Hi, this mediation has rather gone quiet lately - largely my fault as I was busy elsewhere. I would be keen to progress the discussion though, if you have a minute to swing by and comment that would be helpful. WjBscribe 01:27, 9 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've asked a couple of questions on the page about your latest comment, hopefully we can start to pick up pace with this discussion... WjBscribe 03:33, 14 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I've posted an RfC about a controversial topic. I believe that you've participated in discussions about this before. Please participate dispassionately. NYCRuss 11:54, 14 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
