Hello, Rishi Muni, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your recent edits to the page B.M.S. February 2018 edit

Hello. Your recent edit to List of magazines in India appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Thank you. Spellings edit

Please keep spellings in our articles the same as our article titles that they link to - Belgaum not Belagavi, Bangalore not Bengaluru etc.
This is the English Wikipedia and we always use the Common name in English whether or not that is the common local name or the official name.

Speedy deletion nomination of Raja Lakhamagouda Sirdesai edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Raja Lakhamagouda Sirdesai requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.researchgate.net/publication/321866325_RAJA_LAKHAMANGOUDA_SIRADESAI_OF_BOMBAY_KARNATAKA-MAN_AND_MISSION. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. reddogsix (talk) 23:57, 14 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Vikram Soori edit

The article Vikram Soori has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:TOOSOON: Director of one film and there is no evidence that the subject played a significant role in the films or serial listed in the article. Fails WP:DIRECTOR, WP:NACTOR and general notability guideline.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Your move of Gulbarga district edit

Hello. I have reverted your undiscussed move, per WP:COMMONNAME and multiple discussions on the talk page of Gulbarga. Do not make moves like that without prior discussion on the talk page of the article, and clear support for the move from multiple other editors. Per WP:NAMECHANGES we do not move articles (i.e. change names of articles) until after common usage in international English language media and sources have changed, regardless of what local laws, rules and regulations say (Wikipedia is located in the United States, not India, and thus not subject to Indian laws). Which means that a local name change in Karnataka, or even India as a whole, does not automatically lead to a change of name on Wikipedia, and isn't by itself reason enough to change the names of anything here. - Tom | Thomas.W talk 14:10, 30 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

  • We can add your undiscussed move of Shahapur, Karnataka to that: Wikipedia is an international English language encyclopaedia, and no one outside India knows where Yadagiri is, while many know where Karnataka is. - Tom | Thomas.W talk 14:19, 30 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia and copyright edit

Hello Rishi Muni, and welcome to Wikipedia. While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are PD or compatibly licensed) it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, the help desk or the Teahouse before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 17:50, 4 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Chamanlal Doongaji edit

Thanks for creating the article about Chamanlal Doongaji, I have reviewed it and approved it, however it is still very short. If you can find more information about this producer, that would be helpful. In particular, it would be better to highlight any third-party source talking about him specifically, not just in the context of the historical film Sati Sulochana that he produced. If nothing else is found about his life, it may be better to merge Doongaji's biography into the article about the film. — JFG talk 08:55, 3 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Ways to improve Mayakka Temple, Chinchali edit

Hi, I'm Rosguill. Rishi Muni, thanks for creating Mayakka Temple, Chinchali!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. This article's subject may not meet Wikipedia's general notability guideline. The easiest way to demonstrate the subject's notability is to provide citations to multiple reliable sources that have significant coverage of Mayakka Temple.

Additionally, the article is currently a bit unfocused. The article is supposedly about Mayakka Temple, but spends more time talking about a fair whose connection to the temple is unclear. Additionally, the content of the "Fair" section reads like an advertisement, which is one of the things Wikipedia is not.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

Proposed deletion of Ee Family edit

Hello, Rishi Muni. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Ee Family, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Proposed deletion of Namma Nammalli edit

The article Namma Nammalli has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No evidence of notability, citations are all to obituaries of actors that played a role in the subject without any in-depth coverage of the subject or emphasis. Fails WP:GNG.

In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. signed, Rosguill talk 22:53, 25 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Baby Indira moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Baby Indira, does not have enough sreliable ources and citations as written to remain published. While there are several citations provided, none of them can be considered reliable. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia).

Additionally, the article contains blatantly self-contradicting information, as it would appear to chronicle a child star's 30-year career as a child star, which is quite frankly impossible.
