I have indefinitely protected Figüran Osman from re-creation, and temporarily protected Bono from edits by new and unregistered users. If you have any explanation why "Figüran Osman" is supposed to refer to Bono, please give it at the appropriate talk page. - Mike Rosoft (talk) 20:19, 9 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Figüran Osman

edit

Well, I am afraid "it was menioned at some TV show" is not sufficient evidence to warrant inclusion of the (supposed) nickname in a Wikipedia article; Wikipedia has a policy of verifiabilility. If there are any more details (at least: which TV show it was and when did it air), you should explain it at the article's talk page (Talk:Bono).

I might have otherwise allowed Figüran Osman to redirect to Bono, but given that the article has been repeatedly vandalized by replacing instances of "Bono" with "Figüran Osman", combined with a Google search giving nothing relevant, I have decided to delete the redirect and protect it from creation. (But with sufficient evidence, I may change my mind.)

  • Well, the legality of the various videos uploaded to YouTube is often dubious, so - in general - they shouldn't be linked to in the articles. On the article talk page, when they are mentioned as evidence of something, they are probably acceptable. - Mike Rosoft (talk) 11:02, 13 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
