British Eagle - Reference
editThanks for helping with the British Eagle page, but I changed the reference because I used the 1972 edition of the book not the one you have changed it to. I wont change it back because I suspect the text is probably very similar. Just a point of principal I did not use the 1976 edition to create the British Eagle page. editIt was of course 8000 hours for the whole fleet - not just the Prototype, which is still pretty good going for 1922 - I may have been confused by the statement in Jackson that one aircraft flew 8000 miles in the first season.Nigel Ish (talk) 22:31, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

editOK Re-instated the Chipmunk, sorry I didnt notice you had added it. Lived at RAF Hooton Park in the 1960s but I didnt know anything about the history of the place then! MilborneOne (talk) 16:29, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
I am sorry but I have reverted your last edit on the above article and would like to explain why I did so. As you will presumably be aware, adding content without citing a reliable source is not consistent with the wikipedia policy of verifiability. Your edit summary said that you were adding a link to CAA statistics. However, no link was provided, just the wording "Per CAA preliminary UK airport statistics". As mentioned, content needs to be sourced, and it needs to be fully verifiable. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article using one of the ref templates. For instance, if there is a website with the statistics. If you need any assistance please ask. Thank you.--♦Tangerines♦·Talk 21:48, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
Further to your latest edit, the wikipedia policy on verifiability specifically states, The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth — that is, whether readers are able to check that material added to Wikipedia has already been published by a reliable source, not whether we think it is true. Editors should provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is challenged or likely to be challenged, or the material may be removed. In other words users need to provide a source that any other editor can easily check. And it also needs to be sourced using one of the templates. All this is available in the links above. If you could possibly provide a source in the correct format (I have for now changed it to a correct template as I pointed ot above) that any other user can view. Thank you.--♦Tangerines♦·Talk 22:58, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
- Please: I have been comparing the image File:Ringway Airport 1938.jpg with the big air photo on page 88 of R.A.Scholefield's book "Manchester Airport". Please, which of these guesses is true?
- The two black hangars at right are wartime #4 and #5 (later renumbered #6 and #7), and the terminal building on the left disappeared before 1958.
- The two black hangars at right are wartime #2 and #3, and the terminal building on the left is wartime #1.
- In that postwar hangar renumbering, what was given the now-vacant numbers 4 and 5? Anthony Appleyard (talk) 09:41, 26 September 2011 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
