Genres

edit

Simply because other articles have multiple genres llisted in not a valid argument please read WP:OTHERSTUFF. Ridernyc (talk) 21:20, 6 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Well I disagree simply calling the Beatles just rock is wrong. It was only a part of their music. RigbyEleanor (talk) 22:22, 6 March 2010 (UTC)RigbyEleanorReply

That's fine but the consensus is against you, and you are not going to win anyone over by spamming the identical message to several talk pages. Ridernyc (talk)!

Well fine the consensus is against me but it doesn't make it right either. Calling the Beatles only rock is plain wrong. I play their music it's far from only rock music and your misleading the public. I have had people tell me that other groups like Queen play more types of music than the Beatles because all the albums have just rock listed as genres. Fine I said what I had to say if you don't agree that's fine.RigbyEleanor (talk) 14:16, 7 March 2010 (UTC) RigbyEleanorReply

I hate to nag you again but I've noticed you've been involved in various discussions (mostly saying how awesome you think the Beatles are). Please remember that a talk page is meant solely for the discussion of how its corresponding article can be improved. If you think something in an article is incorrect, saying so is fine but only if you provide one or more reliable sources to back your claims up. Simply using a set of quotes from various people is considered original research (specifically "synthesis of published material that serves to advance a position").

Remember that when editing or discussing an article, your own personal opinion shouldn't come into play (see WP:NPOV). Again, sorry for nagging but I hope this clarifies things for you. Una LagunaTalk 16:46, 11 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Misuse of minor edits checkbox

edit

Hi. I noticed you've been incorrectly marking some of your edits as "minor". A "minor" edit is one where any changes made are superficial (e.g. fixing spelling, punctuation, basic formatting); however you have been marking edits such as this and this as minor when they are in fact substantial replies to other users' comments. See Help:Minor edit for more information. Hope this helps, Una LagunaTalk 17:36, 10 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Folk rock

edit

We've discussed this. Please recognise that you are in a minority of one on this point. It would also be helpful if you could learn how to format citations properly. Ghmyrtle (talk) 18:11, 16 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

I hope you guys who are debating with me on the Beatles merits on folk rock are not taking this personally. With respect to your opinions it doesn't mean you are correct. The facts are the Byrds heard folk influences with a strong rock and roll backbeat in the Beatles music. Now you guys have left out that major point in your revision of the article of folk-rock. Another point folk rock is one of many types of music the Beatles were doing at the time. Yes the only thing I agree on is while the Beatles might not have been as folk-rock as the Byrds or Dylan it doesn’t mean the Beatles were not playing folk-rock. Please read my above comment dated 11 March - if you haven't already read it, it should go some way to explaining why you have received the response you have from other editors... Una LagunaTalk 14:51, 17 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
Once again you need to move on. Consensus is quite firmly against you. You also need to learn that you are not always right. Your insistence that everyone else is constantly wrong is starting to border on uncivil. Ridernyc (talk) 15:00, 17 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
