ITMFA

edit

You have been adding a section on the website www.itmfa.com to the article Movement to impeach George W. Bush, which has been removed by other editors because it appears to be primarily geared toward selling items, presumably for fund-raising. Wikipedia does not allow incorporation of material primarily geared toward advocacy or commercial gain. (See WP:NOT#Wikipedia is not a soapbox.) It may seem a bit difficult to discern a difference between promotion and reporting for an article that talks about a political movement, but might I suggest that instead of the site itself, your material about ITMFA should focus on "Savage Love" column and its relevant contents? Whatever you decide, please make your arguments on article talk page (specifically at Talk:Movement to impeach George W. Bush#Averting an edit war, rather than continue to re-add this material. Thank you for your cooperation. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 08:00, 31 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

That paragraph will never last in the article until Dan's site becomes more significant (like the "santorum" site is). But you probably can create a link in the External links header that will stick around; then it will have a presence on WP until the site picks up; you could probably also mention it on Dan Savage or Savage Love. (I should add that when I talk about what "can" or "can't" be done, I'm not issuing rules from on high, but rather predictions about how other editors will behave. So this paragraph is not an order, nor even a request, but rather advice.) --Toby Bartels 05:07, 2 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
