AIG (disambiguation) edit

Regarding this comment on Talk:AIG (disambiguation):

I'm relatively new and with the corporate page for AIG locked I wasn't sure the extent of my privileges.

In that light, you were certainly fine to err on the side of caution and ask. As a general rule, you can be bold and make changes that are needed on articles. If the page is protected, you won't be able to make the change at all - you'll get an error message that the page is protected, how long, and why - though you'll be able to describe it on the talk page (and you can add {{editprotected}} to mark that it's a change needing made.

I see you've also found edit summaries: they are useful for describing the change, be it "fix spelling", "revert vandalism", or whatever the specifics of the edit are. As long as you use those, it should be pretty clear that you're working in good faith to improve articles, so edit away! And if you have any questions, feel free to ask. —C.Fred (talk) 21:53, 23 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
