Your WikiProject edit

I see that you proposed the creation of a project on companies. I've been thinking of a similar project on business leaders as well as companies because I feel both the economics and business and economics projects have done a poor job with both people's articles and companies. I suggested splitting the Business and Economics project on the WikiProject Economics discussion page.

Ideally I think it would be best if we incorporated both a business project and one on companies and business people to create something like a Finance project. Given that the current two existing project have very few members it may be difficult to have a good discussion. I invite you to discuss this on the Economics project's discussion page or on my own talk. Perhaps if we work together we may be able to gather enough support to establish a slightly broader project than what you are proposing that would deal with companies, business people, and finance issues. Let me know what you think. Thanks. JRWalko 23:16, 26 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Template:WikiProject Companies edit

Thanks for your message, I've fixed the template. I am so sorry about messing it up even temporarily, I'm not sure why I didn't notice my error at the time. Thanks again. TAnthony 14:45, 14 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

This needs to be solved edit

I have taken the "List of Companies" problem (what to do with an entire class of articles that get repeatedly submitted for deletion en mass?) for debate to two different places. This really needs to be solved once and for all (we can't keep debating the same stuff for eternity). Would you take a look at either the discussion on the Village Pump or the relevant wikiproject? WP: Companies edit

Its a pleasure to help! I think this wikiproject has alot of importance. Im currently looking into getting a wikipedia banner ad (like the one at the top of our project page) for our project to recriut more members. As you can see, our tagging already brought in a fourth member! hopefully there are many more where they came from.Paco8191 04:50, 22 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hey, just to make sure, brand names dont fall under our projects umbrella, right? Somone tagged trojan condoms, but they are only a brand of Church and Dwight. I think brand names is more of a seperate wiki project. what is your oppinion?Paco8191 00:35, 23 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Capiqlogo.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Capiqlogo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 00:50, 25 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

creating a wikiproject edit

Hey, i have been thinking of creating a new wikiproject on totalitarianism, and i was wondering if you can give me some advice on how to get it off the ground. I know how to list it on the request board, but how do i create the actual project page? any advice you can give would be great! Also its quite exciting how large our companies project is getting, over 500 articles now :)Paco8191 17:56, 24 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Activity survey for members of WikiProject Companies edit

placed on talk pages of all participants

I wanted to get a notion of the level of activity of people who are members of WikiProject Companies with respect to monitoring the WikiProject Talk page and participating in discussions of interest and/or responding to requests for input.

Could you please visit Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Companies/Member information#2008 Quarter 1 (Jan-Mar): Talk page monitoring survey and adding yourself to one or more of the several groupings listed?

Thanks for your assistance.

Renting Books and Audio Books Online edit

We were the first web site to rent books and audio books online. Like two other online rental services in Wikipedia, Netflix and Gamefly, who rent movies and video games respectively. I would like someone to create a page about Booksfree.com. We launched our site in 2000 and have a very interesting history. We are pioneers in the online book rental service and think like Netflix and Gamefly, that we should be include in Wikipedia. I'm looking for an unbiased third party to write an article on us. I would be more then happy to supply any facts or details for the article. Booksfree (talk) 14:54, 10 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Booksfree Press edit

Here is a link to some press we've received:

You can also find a lot of other information on our site and or blog.

Schnitzel Records edit

I found some additional references to Schnitzel Records at http://news.google.co.uk/archivesearch?hl=en&ned=uk&q=Schnitzel-Records&ie=UTF-8 and expanded the article a bit with a Discogs.com reference and a list of artists. --Eastmain (talk) 04:07, 2 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • I won't object if you want to prod it, but someone else might. I suspect there is coverage in reliable sources out there that neither of us has been able to find yet, perhaps in some music industry publication that doesn't put its full text online, and the same may be true for some of the other small independent record labels whose articles have a notability tag. --Eastmain (talk) 04:43, 2 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Image copyright problem with Image:MstarLogo.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:MstarLogo.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Where abouts do you live in Iowa? I at one point was ready to get Iowa up to GA status, but I've lost motivation, perhaps you would like to help? CTJF83Talk 18:37, 2 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

I would love to help, but unfortunately the small amount of time I have to edit Wikipedia is needed for an ongoing photo project of Iowa cities I am working on. - Richc80 (talk) 13:27, 7 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

National Register of Historic Places edit

You've been photographing so many places in Iowa; thanks so much! I'd like to make a really broad request — would you be willing to get photos for Iowa buildings on the National Register of Historic Places? Some of your photos, such as the recently-taken File:Brooklyn Iowa 20090802 William Manatt House.JPG, are of buildings on the Register. Each county has at least one place (including some historic districts, bridges, and the occasional restricted archaeological site) on the Register. If you're willing to help, you can begin at National Register of Historic Places listings in Iowa, which has a complete list of places in many counties. Each county with at least 10 places has its own list, which is linked from this page. Thanks! Nyttend (talk) 14:54, 4 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi Nyttend, thanks for the thanks! I'm happy to look at the list and try to get photos of places on the NRHP. I'll be sure to tag them appropriately on Commons just in case I do not have a chance to add them to the list in question. - Richc80 (talk) 13:34, 7 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
