Magistra edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Magistra, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of the page. License tagging for File:Bedfordriverfestival.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Bedfordriverfestival.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 19:05, 31 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Richard Romancito edit

A tag has been placed on Richard Romancito requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. —Largo Plazo (talk) 18:52, 3 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

I think this whole intervention was completely unnecessary and completely unreasonable. Richard Romancito played the part of supporting actor to John Wayne in a Hollywood Movie. I saw the movie on TV. I was interested to know who the actor was. There was nothing about him on Wikipedia so I did some research to find out about him. When I had done so I created an appropriate entry. Why some jumped up little nonentity felt it was necessary to question my insertion is completely beyond me! I can only think that he or she was some totally inadequate specimen of humanity who found he had a little bit of power, here on Wikipedia, and let it go to his or her head. If he or she had spent more time doing some of his or her own research, rather than questioning mine, this whole section need never have been created and my good research work need never have been lost!

Check out Wikipedia's policy on civility. Sometimes, you know, a person has a constructive point to make that might receive due consideration but the point gets lost amid fury and insults. What would your reaction be if I were now to respond with a comment about "some jumped-up little non-entity who found he can create articles on Wikipedia and let it go to his head"? Would that lead to anything productive? If you'd like to make a fresh start and have a conversation based on Wikipedia's policies and guidelines and my good faith application of them, I'm willing to chat. —Largo Plazo (talk) 22:33, 20 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Who is Dummett, who is he edit

The first sentence of the second paragraph of the first section of this article (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Major_Arcana) begins with the words:

"Dummett writes that originally the Major Arcana had simple allegorical or exoteric meaning, mostly originating in elite ideology in the Italian courts of the 15th century when it was invented."

My question is a very simple one: Who is this Dummett you speak of? The sentence seems to presume that he is some kind of authority on the Tarot. If that is the case, might it not be a good idea to supply a cross reference with some information about the man?
