AfD Nomination: American Patriot Party (United States)

edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but all Wikipedia articles must meet our criteria for inclusion (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Since it does not seem that American Patriot Party (United States) meets these criteria, an editor has started a discussion about whether this article should be kept or deleted.

Your opinion on whether this article meets the inclusion criteria is welcome. Please contribute to the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/American Patriot Party (United States). Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them.

Discussions such as these usually last seven days. In the meantime, you are free to edit the content of the article. Please do not remove the "articles for deletion" template (the box at the top). When the discussion has concluded, a neutral third party will consider all comments and decide whether or not to delete the article.

I have placed a Keep as soon as I reviewed the deletion; The Speed at which this page continues to be deleted amazes me; The deletion was not a discussion but a page of organized prejudice; just as had deleted the first article; The excuse is they could not find a notable story about the party

The Belgian who had set the stage and deleted the first article had no way of even being in the United States to know; Neither had those in this group; Because of their ignorance of the party, they deleted it;

Wikipedia has no issues over rediculous parties such as:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beer_Unity_Party or the many such parties listed at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_frivolous_political_parties

But a party that is serious and has over 26 states in organization is refused.

The case is clear that there are a number of socialists that wish to keep the information presented in this party from being seen.

The Party information is what it is. It should be kept and locked from changes just as has been done with the Republican party or other parties.

I request the page be replaced. --RichardTaylorAPP (talk) 19:52, 21 February 2010 (UTC)RichardTaylorAPPReply

You complain that the Beer Unity Party is hardly notable and has an article, so why should your American Patriot Party not also have an article? This is a fair question, but when I look, I see that the Beer Unity Party actually has considerably more coverage in reliable sources[1] (about 7 articles in Google News) than your iteration of an American Patriot Party which has no third party book or newspaper coverage that I can see. Re-read the policy here about what topics can have articles by clicking this link: WP:NOTE. Wikipedia is actually very lenient when allowing obscure topics to have articles. The problem here is that you have not shown any significant third party sourcing giving specific coverage of your group. It takes a bit more than a passing mention, you must show significant third party coverage of your group in reliable sourcing. Go find that and come back and you can ask again for your article. (And, by the way, I am not a socialist. I suggest that when you come back that you try to be cooperative, civil, and avoid name calling (Learn more here: WP:EQ) as it makes your goal here harder to achieve.) We had presented this in our arguments the first time it was deleted; several party members at one time or another had ran for office;

The party has had history which after the change in 2005, newly started 26 +- states in organization; Is not the fact that there are these as we grow, enough for a single wikipedia page?

   http://74.125.47.132/search?q=cache:mFKNWN4LCXgJ:thirdpartywatch.com/2005/07/21/the-american-patriot-party/+American+Patriot+Party&cd=110&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us

The issues which we are opposed, such as states requiring a huge amount of signatures before even being recognized in any state as a party, seems to follow here;

Did any party (or candidate) before these laws arrose need to be "recognized" by the state? No. They simply stated who they were and what party they identified themselves with; and they were listed as such.

Here we have something that in fact exists, just as a company or anything else; It is not ficticious nor obscure; Do we need conflict which creates notoriety by or through someone else's oppinion to make it more so?

Your edit to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/American Patriot Party (United States)

edit

Hi! Your recent edit to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/American Patriot Party (United States) has been reverted, as the discussion has been closed. If you disagree with the result, you'll need to submit an appeal at Wikipedia:Deletion review. I highly recommend that you review Wikipedia:Notability and find additional reliable secondary sources before submitting an appeal; it is extremely unlikely that anything other than sources will convince them to overturn the deletion decision. I was unable to find sources when I searched, but if there's anything else I can do to help, please let me know! --Explodicle (T/C) 16:24, 22 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

The discussion will never be closed until the Page American Patriot Party (United States) Is established as presented, as it is a valid political party.

The members of the American Patriot Party place the Party Link where applicable in all Political Party pages, as the Party is presently stopped by "particular" wiki members from existing as a PAGE on Wikipedia.

Two previously written articles, perfectly suitable, are apparently not considered by a few Europeans and other Wikis as note worthy enough to be mentioned on Wikipedia. Where the frivolous Beer party and other ridiculous parties are allowed free rein and mentions.

If wiki members will protect our article to exist, I ask that you replace the last page placed.

The Party Exists, is fairly well known and is news worthy; Though not widely discussed because most news services are mostly Corporate (state born exclusive privileged cartels) and would rather not have true Constitutional Original-ism that the Founders intended promoted. The few Wiki Europeans and others hovering over the article to keep it from existing, do not like it either.

The Excuse they use has been that they can't find articles, well others seem to be able to find them and us:

Here is one article APP mention: http://www.journalgazette.net/article/20111120/NEWS03/311209935

Published: November 20, 2011 3:00 a.m. Fort Wayne, Indiana ‘Fair tax’ momentum growing on Capitol Hill Brian Francisco | Washington editor: ...."Democrats in Congress have panned the fair tax proposal. So, too, have conservative groups such as the Constitution Party and the American Patriot Party."

The issue really should be, do we exist; And the answer to that is yes; From 2003 to Present. Over 20 states in organization.

Now what purpose is there for those monitoring Wikipedia, to actively black out the existence of a Political Party, when the number of frivolous (even those no longer in existence) parties are easily granted notoriety on Wiki.

So if Wiki users will protect the page, I will ask that the last page be posted as it was with the ending (United States).

We do not understand wiki enough to reestablish the page, over those on Wiki bound and determined to keep it off.

About the APP

edit

Hi. I've been an anonymous devotee to List of political parties in the United States and Third party (United States for a long time now. I've noticed that you and others in the APP keep adding the link. Look, I'm not trying to be mean or anything; in fact I personally consider your party notable and have included it in my list of parties on my blog. But Wikipedia has certain standards, and those standards (repeatedly mentioned by the other users contacting you) include reliable third-party references. As far as I know, you've provided one brief mention in a town newspaper - this isn't enough. If your party really does have organizations in 26 states, then there should be more mentions. And don't blame everything on the corporate media. There are plenty of conservative and libertarian websites (not all of them reliable third-party references) on the web - if the APP is notable enough for a Wikipedia article, then get the American conservative constitutionalist movement to notice you. 130.64.160.230 (talk) 19:38, 5 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your comments; I am not sure how to answer to "recognize" i.e. "Notice"; We have been a regular article contributor and page holders to and on Campaign for Liberty (.com (archived, and their new .org site); FreedomWorks; and other Conservative and Constitutional Web Sites for years who recognize our existence; They are not going to promote our political party over their own party, that is not going to happen, but they do recognize us; and our web pages are commented upon and quoted occasionally. Our web site is visited by between 250 to 400+ visits a day and many are from educational, political and government. This can be reviewed on our party page: http://www.pacificwestcom.com/whatpeoplesay

Note that the "local news paper" link we placed that you mentioned, is not local to Oregon where the National is located, showing that we are easily recognized on the other side of the US.

You continually add the same link to the same pages, and seem to fail to learn. Above in the welcome message you have been pointed to guidance on how to create articles, and how to add links. Please read and follow the guidance. If you wish to edit Wikipedia, you need to follow the guidance; if you cannot follow the guidance, then we will need to look to stronger measures. We are all volunteers, and at a point you need to change your behaviours. — billinghurst sDrewth 22:26, 29 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
