Welcome!

edit

Hello, Rhurlow, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Ian and I work with Wiki Education; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

I reverted your page move

edit

You moved User:Rhurlow/Antigorite to another user's actual user page, User:Antigorite. I have reverted the move and left a "speedy deletion" request asking that the leftover redirect be deleted.

Your page is back where it started, at User:Rhurlow/Antigorite.

You probably meant to move it to Antigorite or possibly to Draft:Antigorite.

You will not be able to move it to Antigorite since that page already exists and it is not a "one edit redirect."

I would encourage you to either leave it where it is, or move it to Draft:Antigorite, then open a discussion on Talk:Serpentine subgroup asking if there is a consensus to delete Antigorite to make way for a WP:Page mover or WP:Administrator to move the page. As an alternative, you can open a discussion at WP:Redirects for discussion or, as a 3rd option, follow the instructions for a potentially controversial page move at WP:Requested moves. In each case, it will take about a week. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 19:19, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Update: I see others in your class have over-written the previous versions of the pages they were editing. Since this is a redirect with only "stub-level" content in its edit history, you can probably do the same as long as WP:Attribution is preserved if anyone else made any significant edit (my recent edit to a wikilink is not significant). HOWEVER, I would encourage you to ask your class's Wikipedia expert for confirmation first. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 19:30, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

I moved the page and merged the two histories. So all should be well now. Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 14:44, 13 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
