A tag has been placed on Leora Saidi, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. by Snowolf (talk) on 19:07, 17 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Vilna Gaon edit

You sent me an email asking why I reverted your additions to Vilna Gaon. You also placed the edit back before I had to opportunity to enlighten you as to what "encyclopedic language" might mean.

As an encyclopedia, Wikipedia attempts to be impartial and to contain only verifiable information. Your additions lacked sources (apart from an inline URL reference to Ayil Meshulash), but more importantly tried to debunk what you called an "urban myth" and attributed this to "unintelligent anti-modernists". You might be correct that the Vilna Gaon quite possibly did not write Ayil Meshulash in the toilet, but as an encyclopedia we can only reference the work of other researchers who have provided the proof (or even opinion) concerning this. Calling a tradition an "urban myth" (the whole concept is of recent coinage) and its proponents "unintelligent anti-modernists" is most definitely biased. We need to let the facts speak for themselves.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance. You could also try posting a message on Talk:Vilna Gaon to see if others can find the relevant sources. JFW | T@lk 16:51, 20 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Okay, will do. -RHecht — Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.35.13.243 (talk) 21:46, 22 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

I just placed the text into the Vilna Gaon "talk." In the process I edited out the "uneducated" and "urban myth" terms and added a couple of sources. Please review and let me know.
