Font magic?

Hi, I know you can do magic with user boxes, etc. I'm wondering do you have any font magic to figure out how to make the title in the Infobox on Annie Walke be white? I've tried a couple of things - all which is ignored by the Wikipedia Infobox logic.

I hope your schooling is going well!--CaroleHenson (talk) 15:44, 2 October 2012 (UTC)

Hi Carole, yes, it's fun! Not as easy as I thought but fun, I think I'd be very happy if I pass one of my courses. I changed the colour, simply by writing white on the bgcolour section. :D --RexRowan(Ninja signal) 18:29, 2 October 2012 (UTC)
Hi, thanks! I like the link you gave me to web colors. I'm wanting, though, just to change the font color from black to white where the background is the pretty reddish color. Is that possible, or should I just leave it in black font?
Congratulations on moving the park article to article space!--CaroleHenson (talk) 18:47, 2 October 2012 (UTC)
Oh, I got it - I was trying to hard - there's a template {{Font color|blue|this is about plants}}--CaroleHenson (talk) 18:52, 2 October 2012 (UTC)
Cool, it is beautiful white in pink. :D --RexRowan(Ninja signal) 18:57, 2 October 2012 (UTC)

Talk:Biodiversity of Wales/GA1

Hi there. I'm afraid I've had to close this review as unsuccessful at this time- it's a great topic, and one worthy of close attention, but the article is not ready for "good" status yet. I've provided some pointers of what needs to be done- feel free to contact me on my talk page if you need any clarifications or I can be of any help. J Milburn (talk) 19:10, 3 October 2012 (UTC)

A reference at the end of each paragraph would help clarify the source of the information, provided the source page was a reliable one. Citation templates can be very helpful. Let's say you were citing this article. You would use Template:Cite news, and format it like this-
<ref name="Three suspended">{{cite news |title= Three suspended over West Coast contract fiasco|author= Ross, Tim|url= http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/transport/9584259/Three-suspended-over-West-Coast-contract-fiasco.html|newspaper= [[The Daily Telegraph]]|date= 3 October 2012|accessdate=3 October 2012}}</ref>
on the first instance, and like this-
<ref name="Three suspended"/>
every time afterwards. So, your article would look something like this-

Blah blah blah. Blah blah blah. Blah blah blah. Blah blah blah. Blah blah blah. Blah blah blah. Blah blah blah. Blah blah blah. Blah blah blah. Blah blah blah. Blah blah blah.[1]

Blah blah blah. Blah blah blah. Blah blah blah. Blah blah blah. Blah blah blah. Blah blah blah. Blah blah blah. Blah blah blah. Blah blah blah. Blah blah blah. Blah blah blah. Blah blah blah. Thank you again :)Libertarian=Truth? (talk) 20:45, 6 October 2012 (UTC)
Just took A crack at it and well, it turned out making my signature my entire Userpage. How would I do a signature with the Font Papyrus, a purple color(darkish if possible), and looking like LibertarianSupport while The "Libertarian" Part linked to my userpage, and the "Support" Part linked to my talk page? LibertarianSupport (talk) 20:56, 6 October 2012 (UTC)

Much better :) not sure why, but the < /font > tag was unneccesary for the talkpage part, it justneeded < /span > LibertarianSupport 20:20, 7 October 2012 (UTC)
Oh cool, it worked. I'm not sure, maybe it got covered by the first command. I'm still learning coding, it may take a while for me to truly understand these stuff. I'm glad you figure it out, what a smartie! :D --RexRowanTalk 08:08, 8 October 2012 (UTC)
Haha smartie? Nothing of the sort.... I just looked at both lines and tried about 50 times before i figured it outXD I don't really know any non-basic-HTML code, so.... I had no chance without ya haha :D Thanks again!LibertarianSupport 19:15, 8 October 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Eric Grimson

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Eric Grimson requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Eeekster (talk) 19:35, 8 October 2012 (UTC)

October 2012

Thank you for your recent contributions, such as Eric Grimson. Getting started creating new articles on Wikipedia can be tricky, and you might like to try creating a draft version first, which you can then ask for feedback on if necessary, with less risk of deletion. Do make sure you also read help available to you, including Your First Article and the Tutorial. You might also like to try the Article Wizard, which has an option to create a draft version. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 19:35, 8 October 2012 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Professor Darold Treffert.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Professor Darold Treffert.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. VernoWhitney (talk) 20:56, 8 October 2012 (UTC)

Please do not continue to upload files with missing or false information on their copyright status, as you did with File:Professor Darold Treffert.jpg. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Darold Treffert, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page American (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Wikimedia Medicine

Hey. I don't know if your interest in biology ever spills over to medicine but, if it does, you may want to know about m:Wikimedia Medicine. It's a new non-profit corporation that will be raising and disbursing funds and lobbying Wikipedias, governments, corporations, professional and scholarly societies, etc. to improve the quality and coverage of medical information online, in all languages. Though we'll be recognised by the Wikimedia Foundation, and hopefully receive some funding from them, we're independent of them and are open to any solution that will help achieve our aims. --Anthonyhcole (talk) 07:35, 10 October 2012 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Carmarthen Harriers

The article Carmarthen Harriers has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication that the club meets the notability guidelines for inclusion.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. §FreeRangeFrog 01:18, 25 November 2012 (UTC)

This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

-- Patchy1 01:43, 7 December 2012 (UTC)

Working out the details at Wikipedia:Today's article for improvement

The RFC for TAFI is nearing it's conclusion, and it's time to hammer out the details over at the project's talk page. There are several details of the project that would do well with wider input and participation, such as the article nomination and selection process, the amount and type of articles displayed, the implementation on the main page and other things. I would like to invite you to comment there if you continue to be interested in TAFI's development. --NickPenguin(contribs) 02:30, 8 January 2013 (UTC)

TAFI

Hello,
In the past few days, Today's Articles for Improvement has gone through many changes.

  • We have modified the process for adding Nominations, which now uses a template/table format and requires only 3 supports for an article to be selected.
  • There is now a Holding Area, where articles are kept for discussion before being selected for a particular date.
  • The TAFI schedule now involves adding 10 articles weekly, chosen from a variety of topics.
  • We now have an Accomplishments page where we will be highlighting our older TAFI articles which have now become quality articles on the Wikipedia.

The Project is almost ready to hit the Main Page, where it will be occupying a section just below "Did you Know" section. Three article from the weekly batch of 7 will be displayed randomly at the main page, the format of which can be seen at the Main Page sandbox. There is also an ongoing discussion at the Main page talk over the final details before we can go forward with the Main Page.

If you have any ideas to discuss with everyone else, please visit the TAFI Talk Page and join in on the ongoing discussions there. You are also invited to add new nominations, and comment and suport on the current ones at the Nominations page. You can also help by helping in the discussions at the Holding Area.

Above all, please do not forget to improve our current Today's Articles for Improvement

Thank you and hoping to have some productive work from you at the Project,

The Wikipedia Adventure: Text Mockup (feedback welcome!)

Hi TWA folks!

It's been a long time since we worked on The Wikipedia Adventure together, but this spring I proposed the game for an Individual Engagement Grant and it was accepted :)

I spent the last two months refining the script and getting ready to build the game using Guided tours. I am working with an amazing designer and getting expert curation tips from the Grant program leader.

Here is the full 7-mission text version of the game: http://jatspan.org/twa2.html#29

I'd love to have your feedback on it, before I get started with the build. I would love it if you would leave any thoughts, tips, comments, recommendations, suggestions, ideas, or concerns, at WP:TWA/Feedback.

Hope you're doing great,

New Wales Coast Path WikiProject

As a member of WikiProject Wales, WikiProject Cardiff or an user who has contributed to Welsh articles we invite you to contribute to a new project, Living Paths!: articles, images, translations... Lonely Planet rated the coast of Wales "the best region on Earth" in 2012, yet there is a very low number of articles on the history and culture of places along the Coastal Path. This promises to be an exciting project as it gathers momentum with many Users joining in across the world.

If you are interested in training groups in Wales, please leave a message on the Talk Page.
Let's make this WikiProject, like the path itself, the best on earth! And let's put Wales back on the map!

Hello, I'm DMacks. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more external links you added to the page Walter Lewin, because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you.
