Disambiguation link notification for September 15 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Slavery in the 21st century, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Chattel (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:02, 15 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

January 2019 Tokyo car attack edit

Hello, thanks for your contributions to Wikipedia. It is much appreciated.

However, please avoid creating articles like January 2019 Tokyo car attack because Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, rather than a news source. Though I have not checked rigourously, it most probably fall afoul of WP:NOTNEWS.

While I am not proposing it for deletion, some other editor may do so.

At the end of the day, it's just a wastage of effort (if the article gets deleted). So, when creating a new article on a recent event, a good metric to assess its suitability to Wikipedia is to consider the 10 year test - do you think this will be still relevant and important ten years from now?

If you are looking for articles to create, you may want to check out Wp:Requested articles and its subpages, such as Wp:Requested articles/Japan. Wp:WikiProject Missing encyclopedia articles is also there. SD0001 (talk) 14:31, 1 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

re Gun laws in Australia article edit

I understand where you're coming from with the addition; the problem is, the whole section needs proper revision to update these facts, rather than addition of the NZ shooting details - or at least, _before_ addition of the details of the NZ shooting. There have been two mass shootings in AU just since 2015 as well, so much of the info is outdated. Of course, it requires someone to do the updating. I may do so if I can find the time, but it's a slim bet currently. Anastrophe (talk) 05:32, 19 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

April 2019 edit

Hello. Your recent edit to List of Australian criminals appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. The entries need to be individually notable Australian criminals (i.e., with Wikipedia articles about them), not just Australians who committed notable crimes. Orphaned non-free image File:Paladin group logo.png edit

Thanks for uploading File:Paladin group logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 00:33, 20 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Hughesdarren: thankyou! The page received some nonconstructive edits afterwards (a new user, user:NatashaMcCallum, blanked large sections, leaving the edit summary "incorrect citations"). But the situation was quickly dealt with by user:DannyS712 and user:materialscientist. Revoran (talk) 14:55, 23 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
