Biographies for people in the film industry edit

I don't think that all the articles you are creating meet the notability guidelines at WP:FILMMAKER. -- Alan Liefting (talk) - 22:24, 25 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Academy Award nominations qualify as having "won significant critical attention" (criteria #4). Restar32 (talk) 22:27, 25 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
perhpas, but the nomination is for the film not the person. In particular, you need to really create a balanced biography, which shows what films that the person has worked on throughout their career. Why don't you write articles on the films first rather than the directors? Barney the barney barney (talk) 22:38, 25 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
Which was created first - the chicken or the egg? Do not worry your mind over such concerns, for it matters not a whit. Restar32 (talk) 22:16, 27 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Imdb as a source edit

Please don't use Imdb as a source if there are other sources available. Take a look at some of the articles you have created recently, and see how other, far more reliable and independent sources are available in many cases. --DThomsen8 (talk) 03:20, 7 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

  • You are right. There are many better sources that can be used, and additional and better sources have been added to these articles. Cheers. Restar32 (talk) 20:56, 16 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
