Managing a conflict of interest edit

Hello, ReidyMedia. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Alex Reid (fighter), you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. bonadea contributions talk 22:58, 15 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

November 2021 edit

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates, or other materials from Wikipedia without adequate explanation, as you did at Alex Reid (fighter), you may be blocked from editing. bonadea contributions talk 23:54, 15 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

As previously advised, your edits, such as the edit you made to Alex Reid (fighter), give the impression you have a financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. You were asked to cease editing until you responded by either stating that you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits, or by complying with the mandatory requirements under the Wikimedia Terms of Use that you disclose your employer, client and affiliation. Again, you can post such a disclosure on your user page at User:ReidyMedia, and the template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=ReidyMedia|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. Please respond before making any other edits to Wikipedia. bonadea contributions talk 06:37, 16 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

This is confirmation that I have no financial vested interest in Alex Reid, I receive no contributions in any form directly or indirectly for my edits. I simply only want true facts not fabricated ones. ReidyMedia (talk) 07:02, 16 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Reidy Media is the name of a company that promotes Alex Reid. That kind of username is not allowed, and it makes it rather obvious that you represent Reid. But even if you were to change your name you would not be allowed to remove well-sourced information and add unsourced claims. In fact, as explained above, as you represent him you should not edit that article at all.--bonadea contributions talk 07:12, 16 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

You are incorrect and I would appreciate you not speculating about the business operation I own, I have no reason to explain however as You are so far disconnected from the reality of the situation let me explain. Reidy Media Ltd is Alex Reid’s PR company, owned and operated by him. ReidyMedia Management Ltd is a non remunerated operation that manages the social aspect of inconsistency with published articles. I own this firm and it is supported by sueing for damages in regards to defamation, comments designed to cause harm, distress and harassment amongst others. Wikipedia states that representatives and those that gain directly or indirectly from associated links to those discussed may not edit, I do not fall into that category and you are simply not allowing me to have my contribution to a public space. This is a clear discriminatory issue and requires immediate attention. Your comments claiming to understand the several companies I operate in London and the US is clearly a fabrication and wholly undue. ReidyMedia (talk) 07:24, 16 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of name and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions other than promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. 331dot (talk) 10:16, 16 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

I find it difficult to believe that you have no financial interest here. If you are employed by this company, you are a paid editor. 331dot (talk) 10:17, 16 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

You may find it difficult to grasp but I have no financial interest, let me make it more simple. I HAVE NO FINANCIAL INTEREST. I will pursue this further as your decision to block me without conducting relevant due diligence. Please refer to companies house (gov.uk) and your questions will be answered. I would request an apology for wasting hours of my time from late last night on this ridiculous situation. I also do not appreciate you telling me what I am employed as, it is clear by your statement you do not have a clue so please don’t embarrass yourself by trying to tell me I am a paid editor. I am happy to discuss in person and provide any evidence you require as it will be a pain to open a new account to continue editing with an alternative IP address as this is now blocked. Please feel free to find me on Twitter, instagram, companies house, one of my businesses websites, IMDb, Facebook, the UK legal registration website (Org.uk), LinkedIn or many others. There you will find all my details, email, phone and even address. I have nothing to hide and would love the opportunity for you to do proper research, find out who I am and contact me. ReidyMedia (talk) 11:29, 16 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia matters are handled on Wikipedia, not off-wiki. You may request unblock per the instructions above. If your request involves sensitive personal information, you may use WP:UTRS to make a request. Creating a new account or using an alternative IP address would be considered block evasion and only further reduce your chances of being unblocked. So you are not employed by Reidy Media and are doing this work for free? 331dot (talk) 11:33, 16 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

There are no payments of any kind involved. I operate ReidyMedia Free of charge in all aspects ReidyMedia (talk) 11:35, 16 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Okay. As I said, you are free to request unblock as noted above. You will need to make a request that also proposes a new username. Someone independent will review any request you make. 331dot (talk) 11:38, 16 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
Is this the same Reidy Media that until recently included Alex Reid as a Director? Reads like a conflict of interest to me. 86.131.255.134 (talk) 21:21, 16 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

86.131.255.134 - No you are viewing ReidyMedia Ltd on Companies House, you will note that Alex Reid is no longer Director but is still Significant Controller. Try again…. ReidyMedia (talk) 21:25, 16 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

OK, I’ll try again. Apparently you were appointed in September 2021 as salaried Director of Reidy Media Ltd, a Private Limited Company with Share Capital. The company lists itself as involved in the media of performing arts to promote the career of Alex Reid, the previous Director of the company. Definite conflict of interest involved in damage limitation on the article. 86.131.255.134 (talk) 21:46, 16 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
86.131.255.134, please be aware of WP:OUTING. 331dot (talk) 21:50, 16 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

No need to try again, I am indeed Director of Reidy Media, but NOT salaried, hence I DO NOT hold shares in this company, Alex owns 100% of shares and is significant controller for this business. I am simply Director. The regulations state I am unable to correct inaccuracies on a page if the result would be monetary gain. As there is no monetary gain I am unable to see why I cannot adjust a page that is full of untruths that could be deemed instigating defamation. The page is full of inaccuracies and citations that are simply not true, this is a serious issue. ReidyMedia (talk) 21:52, 16 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

This is getting extremely boring now and has been going on since 03:00am. 19 hours is a total waste of my time. I have several (over 200 domains in various business and several thousand potential email addresses within several companies I operate around the world not to mention more IP addresses than I can count. I will simply keep setting up new accounts in various names. So keep this blocked if you must, it makes no difference to me. I will get my team on the case correcting the wrongs we find! I am unable to respond any further. Thanks for your time. ReidyMedia (talk) 21:57, 16 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

All of this because WP says Alex was sentenced to 8 weeks in prison when this was in fact 4.. that’s all I changed! ReidyMedia (talk) 21:59, 16 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Firstly, as the Director of a company owned by Alex Reid, whether salaried or not, there is a direct conflict of interest as reflected in your removing properly sourced and referenced facts from reputable newspapers such as The Independent as “tabloids”. 86.131.255.134 (talk) 22:07, 16 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
As I've said twice now, you may make another unblock request for someone else to review. If your team edits the article, they will be blocked as sockpuppets. 331dot (talk) 22:09, 16 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Can you stop messaging me on here please, as I have previously stated I am no longer interested in continuing this conversation and the bombarding messages are a harassing. As you have stated any member of the public can edit information so if this happens it’s nothing to do with me! One last question, we are currently filming a documentary on social dependency with 2 episodes solely based on inaccuracies and the consequences for those it affects, from mental health to depression. We will use the screenshots of this conversation from 3:00am on this broadcast unless I hear otherwise. It’s a very interesting read. Email me on the address you have for this login if you have any concerns, please use Media Enquiry - 0877135B in the subject heading. Thanks ReidyMedia (talk) 22:17, 16 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Since I have now mentioned three times that you may request unblock, the only purpose of this page while blocked, and are declining to do so, I am removing your access to this page. You will now need to use WP:UTRS for unblock requests. 331dot (talk) 22:24, 16 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
