Hello, I'm Tcr25. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Neanderthals in Gibraltar, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. I'll expand on the talk page, but your edit resulted in text that did not align with the sources provided on the page; your source in the edit comment didn't clearly support the change either. —Carter (Tcr25) (talk) 16:09, 29 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I was responding to the request below, but I won't waste more time addressing the extensive errors in the piece - the statement below provides enough warning..But should you need more information about this, please see: Neanderthals in Context: A Report of the 1995-1998 Excavations at Gorham's and Vanguard Caves, Gibraltar (Oxford University School of Archaeology Monograph) 2012 by R. N. E. Barton, C. B. Stringer and J. C. Finlayson.
This article needs to be updated. The reason given is: The dating needs revision; advances in radiocarbon sample decontamination have led to a revision of dates. It has no longer accepted since about 2011 that Gibraltar Neanderthals might have been the last of their species, nor even that there were any Neanderthals in Gibraltar after c. 42,000 BP. Please help update this article to reflect recent events or newly available information. (January 2019) 146.90.116.76 (talk) 10:39, 30 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, I understand and agree that that the article needs updating, but it has to done in a way that is reliably sourced and noted. Honestly, it's more of a rewrite than a simple update. —Carter (Tcr25) (talk) 13:43, 30 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
