Speedy deletion nomination of JioCinema

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on JioCinema, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. JioCinema

edit

Hi, firstly you need to declare that you have a connection to the company on your userpage and the talkpage of the article if you recreate it as per WP:COI. The problem with the article was that it was too promotional and read like a press release saying how good the service was and that it was on a par with competitors. It was not just me who felt it was too promotional as the deleting admin also agreed.

Basically, articles need to be written in a neutral manner without praise such as you would find in a paper encyclopedia such as Brittanica where the tone is dry and almost boring. Another problem is that you have a conflict of interest and it is preferable that articles are written by someone uninvolved and unconnected to the company because if they are written with a coi they are suspected of bias and more likely to be deleted. You can request that the article be created by a volunteer at WP:Requested articles and you can provide a list of references there to help but you can't determine how the article should be written, or you could request a volunteer who writes company articles to write one about the company such as @Edwardx: or @Northamerica1000:, regards Atlantic306 (talk) 18:36, 17 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

--Thank you Atlantic306 for a detailed answer. I recreate this article including the general COI declaration and will submit again for your review.

Hi Atlantic306! - Please help me to improve this article. JioCinema

--Reenajha07 (talk) 12:28, 11 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

If you are addressing a specific user, please do not use the "help me" tag, as that attracts others to this page. Simply putting a link to their user page is enough. 331dot (talk) 14:45, 11 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

---331dot - Thank you for addressing this. Since the content was reviewed by the said person therefore I tagged him. In general, I would appreciate help from everyone who can help me to improve this article.Reenajha07 (talk) 15:19, 11 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi there, re: this edit and similar, Wikipedia isn't here to advertise films and television series, and per WP:ELNO, we should not be including links to pay sites or sites that require registration.

Further, since you seem uniquely interested in JioCinema, and while I am aware that you have declared a conflict of interest about JioCinema on your user page, if you are a paid editor, you must disclose this fact, as well as who your employer is, who your client is, and any other relevant information. Please see WP:PAID. And note also that since having a conflict of interest is an ethical concern, you are strongly discouraged from editing in areas surrounding JioCinema. Thank you and regards, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 18:44, 16 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
