Protect Line LTD draft

edit

@Theroadislong: Thanks for offering to chat. I am new to this so appreciate any help and guidance. We're trying to add legitimately missing content Reedocr (talk) 13:08, 27 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

I'm afraid it looks more like you are promoting your business. Theroadislong (talk) 13:27, 27 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Theroadislong: That's fair, I can see how it looks that way. Of course I would like our business to be represented on Wikipedia. I have only included factual details about the company. No adverts or links to lead generation funnels etc. I have cited the conflict clearly. Many 1000s of businesses are on Wikipedia. As the worlds leading encyclopaedia We are keen to have footprint of our business out there. I am very open to any amendments you'd be willing to suggest? Reedocr (talk) 14:03, 27 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
As per advice at the help desk...:Wikipedia has essentially no interest in anything the company has to say about themselves. It is only interested in what people who have no connection with them have chosen to publish about them. The article should be limited to a summary of what such independent sources have said about them. Notability is judged by looking at the depth of coverage in independent, reliable, secondary sources. There was nothing in the draft to indicate that it would pass Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies). Theroadislong (talk) 14:36, 27 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Theroadislong: Ok. I understand. Thank you! @Theroadislong: I have made amendments to increase objectivity and include notable items from reliable sources. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Reedocr (talkcontribs)

One other thing, the template you want to use on your userpage is {{paid}} instead of {{UserboxCOI}}. This will include the mandatory declaration that you are paid to edit an article about your employer. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 22:15, 27 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Drm310: Thanks for your additional help. Now I have added this do you believe the article could now be reviewed? Reedocr (talk) 14:55, 30 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Reeocr: Theroadislong has left a comment on your draft article.
I'm afraid that you may have understood the purpose of Wikipedia. Companies are not entitled to have an article just because they exist; Wikipedia is not a business directory. Only companies that meet Wikipedia's definition of a notable company are considered worthy of inclusion. This means a company must have already received significant, in-depth coverage from multiple sources that are both reliable and independent of the company itself. Wikipedia has no interest in what a company wants to say about itself. If your company does not have enough coverage - in quantity and quality - from reputable third-party sources, then I'm sorry to say that it is not deserving of a Wikipedia article. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 15:22, 30 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
