Capital letters

edit

Please don't over-use capital letters - per WP:CAPITALS. Ghmyrtle (talk) 21:02, 19 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

...and also...

edit

Please don't add new sections about individual band members in articles about bands. The members (in most cases - for example Gerry Marsden) already have their own articles, and Wikipedia does not support unnecessary duplication. Please look through all the advice in the welcome message above, or ask for advice in the Teahouse, rather than continuing to make poor quality edits that do not improve the encyclopedia. Thanks. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Gary and the Hornets, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Franklin. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Stop capitalising words

edit

I have sorted out a few articles relating to Freddie and the Dreamers such as the band itself and the members where most words on those articles started with capital letters. I have uncapitalised them so please refrain from doing that again. 2A00:23C8:3D8D:DB01:B557:A050:BF45:4C57 (talk) 23:10, 30 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Victor Moulton

edit

The article Victor Moulton has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. — Mhawk10 (talk) 03:33, 17 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Buddy Randell moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Buddy Randell, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.   Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to Freddie Marsden, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Ghmyrtle (talk) 13:50, 24 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

So far, people are being incredibly tolerant of your editing. However, you do need to take into account the comments that have been made about your edits - and, in particular, WP:MUSICBIO. Musicians who are members of notable bands but have no other claims to notability should not have articles written about them - "Members of notable bands are redirected to the band's article, not given individual articles, unless they have demonstrated individual notability." So, editors will continue to revert your edits unless you can explain why these musicians should have separate articles, based on previously published, reliable sources. If you continue to ignore advice, guidelines, and policies, you face the risk of being blocked from editing completely. Thanks. Ghmyrtle (talk) 14:13, 24 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Refrain from making poor quality edits

edit

I've been reverting some edits of yours recently that appear to be poor quality and mainly capitalising LOADS of words. All articles that you have made should probably be deleted and then there wouldn't be a waste of time for me and any other editors that would have to revert stuff that's poor quality. 2A00:23C8:3D8D:DB01:7D52:289D:D530:37A2 (talk) 20:06, 24 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Red plosion: I have removed this to reviewed. It was legitamately reviewed on NPP and you decided to revert when there is no coverage on the article. The references are junk. It has been already redirected by another editor, so it is now in Draft:Little Big Time. Try and find secondary references. If it appears in mainspace with those references again, then I will need to send it to Afd and will be deleted, as they're is no coverage. I would save it, if I could. scope_creepTalk 20:47, 24 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Red plosion: I had another look at that article. There is a couple of references that are ok to get started, so they're is life in. You could trim it right back to seed article on those two references and will promoted with that. It can sit in mainspace for a couple while the Google graph is built, that way they'll be more sources coming. It is a strange effect that what was invisible before becomes available. Hope that helps. Merry Christmas. scope_creepTalk 12:46, 25 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

When adding links to material on external sites, as you did to Barry Whitwam, please ensure that the external site is not violating the creator's copyright. Linking to websites that display copyrighted works is acceptable as long as the website's operator has created or licensed the work. Knowingly directing others to a site that violates copyright may be considered contributory infringement. This is particularly relevant when linking to sites such as YouTube or Sci-Hub, where due care should be taken to avoid linking to material that violates its creator's copyright. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you believe the linked site is not violating copyright with respect to the material, then you should do one of the following:

  • If the linked site is the copyright holder, leave a message explaining the details on the article Talk page;
  • If a note on the linked site credibly claims permission to host the material, or a note on the copyright holder's site grants such permission, leave a note on the article Talk page with a link to where we can find that note;
  • If you are the copyright holder or the external site administrator, adjust the linked site to indicate permission as above and leave a note on the article Talk page;

If the material is available on a different site that satisfies one of the above conditions, link to that site instead. Toddst1 (talk) 18:30, 2 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Your recent editing history at Pete Birrell shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Toddst1 (talk) 18:32, 2 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

  Hello, I'm Toddst1. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, May Harrison, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Toddst1 (talk) 18:35, 2 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Your draft article, Draft:Little Big Time

edit

Hello, Red plosion. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or draft page you started, "Little Big Time".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.
