Answer to your question about Wikipedians.

Hello! You wanted to know efforts from Wikipedians to keep it up and legitimate. So I am actually the lead coordinator of the Current Event WikiProject, which manages the Portal:Current events. My contributions to Wikipedia are normally entering the daily current events and helping grow new articles on those new topics.

Forgot to give a section about me. So I started editing Wikipedia back in 2019 and since then, I have been given 4 barnstars, which are Wikipedia awards and back in April 2020, I restarted the Current Event WikiProject.

What intrigues me the most are your motivations in being part of wikipedia, the idea is to bring to light the effort that it requires to uphold wikipedia as what it is, efficient and legitimate. @Reciprocal learning yute:, So I have a few motivations to edit Wikipedia. One that is a major motivation is my goal to have a place to see 100% neutral news, aka the straight facts. Wikipedia isn't perfect, but in my opinion, the Portal:Current events is just about as close to neutral as you can get. So for me, I want to help show people neutral, straight to the point/facts news. Another motivation for me started back in August 2020. There was something I read (Outside of Wikipedia) that mentioned "Extreme bias moments on Wikipedia" and listed/showed some of those moments. For me wanting a place to read things without a bias, this hit home for me. Even though some things weren't current events, I started editing articles that I felt had a strong bias.

I ended up discovering a few biased things that were current event articles, so I started long and "painful" discussions on Wikipedia. One discussion is about 30 pages long (If you copy/paste it all into a word document to see page length). Some editors (Counting at 3 right now) have actually tried to get me banned from Wikipedia for wanting to make sure facts were stated. The admins that normally deal with the discussions on bans also are fairly prevalent in the current event articles, so out of 3 attempts to get me banned, only 1 ended in a warning. The other 2 attempts were just brushed off due to stupid reasons (And I assume partially because of my role in the Current Event WikiProject). So that is one of my main motivations to edit Wikipedia. It seems to me that you have already lived a lot on wikipedia, so I am quite intrigued by your beginnings.
