  Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, please do not add promotional material to articles or other Wikipedia pages, as you did to PNC Financial Services. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" is against Wikipedia policy and not permitted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you.   Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Nordea. While objective prose about products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Thank you. MikeWazowski (talk) 15:33, 19 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

I noticed a similar post on American Express and I thought my post was of a similar tone. I will try to be more factual in future but I thought what I wrote was objective.

Brand Finance

edit

Hi Rdbhaigh, I'm posting this message on your talk page because I noticed that you've recently created the new article Brand Finance--However, I noticed there are some holes that may need filling: the article does not contain Wikilinks, and so doesn't follow [[Wikipedia:Manual of Style {linking}|Wikipedia style guidelines]].It would be great if you could also add references to the related article Brand-Nagelberg.

And have a beautiful day! Cheers, Amy Z (talk) 16:48, 17 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

  Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Brand valuation. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. [1] MrOllie (talk) 19:48, 22 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, Rdbhaigh. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Brand Finance, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. AllyD (talk) 16:39, 8 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
