Help me! edit

Please help me with... Hello, I made edits to a page (Ballard Neighborhood in Seattle) that were then removed by user Dennis Bratland. His edits are incorrect. I responded in a talk page to Dennis but get no response. I had read that the proper etiquette for differences in articles is to use talk pages. But it seems that I must not be using one correctly or perhaps it is being ignored. I don't know. This is the first time I have made any more than minor edits to a page. Can you assist? P.S. an example of a curious thing is the comment about "signature" I read the details on two pages and I think I did sign my talk page. After reading it three times, I think what your instructions are saying is JUST to type the four tildes. This magically inserts a username and date/time stamp. I had typed my username and my own name after the tildes so I think that was unnecessary but did not hurt anything. If you can point out where I have made the wikimedia mistakes I would appreciate it.

You learn something every day. Dennis Bratland has offered some reasons and advice in their response to your post on their talk page. Additional discussion should take place on Talk:Ballard, Seattle.
Yes, you just type the four tildes. Or click on the "sign" button in the user interface, depending on which user interface you've chosen to use. B ut if you want to include your personal name and not just your username, you'll need to visit your preferences to add that to the default signature (or type it yourself each time). — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 18:53, 21 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
