Area 0,49 sq. km was in Atlas of Pohnpei ([1] – unfortunately death link now), and 0,5 sq. km is listed in Review of the Protected Areas System of Oceania. If you have published sources for area 0,15 sq. km, change it and add references. Aotearoa (talk) 12:50, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

Arkhangelsk Oblast

Please do not remove sourced material as you did here. If you do not understand the nature of the change, there's always talk page. Thank you.—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); April 3, 2010; 13:55 (UTC)

Sorry, this was a mistake. I only intended to remove the section about "island territories" as there are no such island territories in the Arkhangelsk Oblast.--Ratzer (talk) 14:34, 3 April 2010 (UTC)
That's what I meant. There are island territories in Arkhangelsk Oblast, which is exactly why I added a source to support the statement! You seem to be mixing up the concepts of the administrative divisions (the primary subject of this article) and the municipal divisions (which are described in the corresponding, albeit incorrectly named, article in ru_wiki). Unlike with many other federal subjects, the administrative and municipal divisions of Arkhangelsk Oblast do not match 100%. Best,—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); April 3, 2010; 14:39 (UTC)
Sorry again, I was indeed unaware of that difference. I shall look more into this matter, time permitting.--Ratzer (talk) 14:52, 3 April 2010 (UTC)

Actually, my source is newer :) The new law on the administrative-territorial divisions was adopted just this last September, which is also when Franz Joseph Land and Victoria were officially named to be "island territories" (before, in the 1996 law, last revised in 2004, they were simply listed separately). Your confusion is rooted in the fact that the Russian article about Primorsky District deals with Primorsky Municipal District, of which both Franz Joseph and Victoria are indeed a part. Primorsky Administrative District does not include them. With Novaya Zemlya, it is administratively a district (raion), but municipally it is an urban okrug. Hope this helps.—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); April 3, 2010; 20:38 (UTC)

Hala'ib Triangle map

Hi. Do you know if there is an equivalent Army Corps of Engineers map for the Hala'ib Triangle? (And I wonder under what circumstance the ACE made a map of Bir Tawil?) Best, Beyond My Ken (talk) 02:05, 11 June 2010 (UTC)

Actually, never mind, I found them here. The maps which cover the Triangle are

  • NF 36-4 W. Hodein (4.2 MB)
  • NF 36-7 Gebel Seiga (4.0 MB)
  • NF 36-8 Gebel Gerf (3.3 MB)
  • NF 37-5 Halaib (4.8 MB) Edition 2
  • NF 37-5 Halaib (5.0 MB) Edition 4

They show the same notations as the Bir Tawil map: "political boundary" and "administrative boundary". I'd upload them, but they're much too big, and too much bother to assemble together into a single map of the territory. Best, Beyond My Ken (talk) 03:14, 11 June 2010 (UTC)

Actually, most of the area falls within two sheets, NF 36-8 and NF 37-5. Of the other two sheets, only small portions would be needed (for the northernmost and westernmost parts of the area). I'll give it a try, but it might take a while.
If you are interested in the area, you have probably seen the article on Wadi Halfa Salient, which is the third area where the administrative boundary between Egypt and Sudan deviates from the political boundary.--Ratzer (talk) 06:39, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
No I hadn't -- my interest in the area is almost completely accidental. I'll take a look. Beyond My Ken (talk) 06:43, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
I did some general cleanup on the article -- mostly layout adjustments. Beyond My Ken (talk) 06:55, 11 June 2010 (UTC)

Incidentally, since I haven't said so, nice work on the ACE maps for the Hala'ib Triangle article. Beyond My Ken (talk) 04:38, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
Well thanks, I thought of this as a preliminary solution. I'm still trying to get the sheets merged together seamlessly by the map workshop of the German Wikipedia, much like in the case of Yos Sudarso Island.--Ratzer (talk) 05:31, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
That would be excellent, but your solution in the meantime is good. Beyond My Ken (talk) 05:53, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

BRAVO! Beyond My Ken (talk) 23:10, 19 June 2010 (UTC)

It's not perfect (jump in the coastline), but more useful than the individual sheets, I think.--Ratzer (talk) 18:19, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
