Welcome! edit

Hello, Rasophia, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Shalor and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Notes edit

Hi! Here are my notes:

  • Avoid hotlinking to outside sources in the article - they should generally either be used as sources or added to the external links section. For example, rather than linking to a website that lists the regions of Mexico it would be better to list them out as Northern Mexico, Central Mexico, Southern Mexico, the Yucatan Peninsula, the Pacific Coast region and the Baja Peninsula, since that's more informative that way. On a side note, you always want to be careful about what sources you pull information from, as not all sources are reliable on the Internet. For example, Reference.com was seen as not reliable here because it will sometimes copy content from Wikipedia, which cannot be used to source itself. This doesn't mean that all of the content is mirrored or that it's all wrong, just that it puts the overall reliability of the site into enough question that it shouldn't be used. The things you're using as sources are good, but reliability should also be taken into consideration with everything added to the article.
  • Be careful of sentence fragments like this: As well as having the choreography be influenced by Veracruz animals in the region imitating the moves of iguanas. It just needs to be rephrased, is all.

The rest of the additions look like they should be good (I assumed that the new content will be anything that's underlined) - just make sure that everything is sourced, as always. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 18:29, 30 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
