{{helpme}} i want to create a page about my favorite rapper. But it keeps on getting deleted. Why? and how can i fix it?

First, I would read the sections below about your first article and biographies of living persons. For you to have your article not deleted it will have to about a person who is notable. Please see WP:Music for the criteria for musicians. Also, you will need to include reliable sources by third-party publications. It doesn't have to be a website. You can cite books, magazines, radio interviews, television appearances, etc. I suggest working on the article in your userspace and then asking someone if it is ready for publication. I will create a user sub-page for you here. I hope this was helpful. Wperdue (talk) 15:03, 9 June 2009 (UTC)wperdueReply

Speedy deletion nomination of Alec williams edit

A tag has been placed on Alec williams requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Speedy deletion nomination of Alec williams edit

A tag has been placed on Alec williams requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Hell in a Bucket (talk) 15:23, 7 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Please do not create articles about musicians unless they are well-known enough to deserve an article on Wikipedia. See this page for more information. DJ Clayworth (talk) 14:43, 9 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

If you continue to recreate this article without explanation you may be blocked from editing. If you have read the notability guidelines, and truly believe that Alec williams deserves an article, please explain why on this page. DJ Clayworth (talk) 14:45, 9 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 14:54, 9 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

It has already been explained to you that Alec williams does not appear to be well-known enough to deserve an article on Wikipedia. The only way to be able to create an article about him is to find references that show he is in fact well-known - e.g. magazine articles, web pages (not blogs or myspace). You can leave links to those sources here. DJ Clayworth (talk) 14:59, 9 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
