Speedy deletion nomination of Rob Chandra

edit

Hello Raovikramnet,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Rob Chandra for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Your draft...

...needs a ref for the first paragraph of career, to confirm the nature of his research. An Awards section would help if he has significant-in-his-field awards. A Selected publications section is allowable, although does not contribute to confirming notability. David notMD (talk) 15:07, 23 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

@David notMD: Hi David notMD, Thanks a lot for helping me and correcting my mistakes. I have found couple of reference and cited it. For computer scientist and electrical engineers Lifetime Fellow of the IEEE is top recognition but also i have checked List of computer science awards last week and found that this Professor has won 6-7 relevant awards from that category.. i will research further and link them. Thanks again for your quick and prompt response. It really keeps me awake all night :) Raovikramnet (talk) 08:10, 25 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Draft:Prasant Mohapatra

edit

Hi Raovikramnet -- Thanks for submitting this draft; I've looked at it quickly, and the subject meets the notability threshold for academics. However you need an independent source (eg fellowship/award citation or a review by someone outside the subject's team) to claim "He developed an understanding on how to quantify the quality of surveillance in a wireless sensor network." If this is sourced to the subject's papers or university profile, then it needs to be rephrased along the lines of "He has researched how to quantify...".

With biographies of living people it is best to source absolutely everything for clarity, so you would also be well advised to state explicitly where the other information comes from even if it is just the subject's CV or university profile page; with high-quality universities these are generally considered sufficiently reliable. @Espresso Addict: Hi Espresso Addict, Your comments were useful and I have made subtle changes accordingly. Have a great day ahead! Raovikramnet (talk) 07:54, 25 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

I've accepted it for you. You can continue to develop it at Prasant Mohapatra, but be sure to use inline references for everything you add. If you're interested in adding more IEEE fellows then they all meet the notability criteria for academics but in future you might like to develop the articles in your own user sandbox (the "sandbox" link you see on the right when you are logged in) until you are sure that you've got them fully sourced and non-promotional and ready for review.
Unfortunately many new page patrollers and articles for creation reviewers are unfamiliar with how articles on academics should be judged -- check out WP:PROF and be prepared to argue your corner politely! Cheers, Espresso Addict (talk) 09:05, 25 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Espresso Addict: Thanks Espresso Addict. Happy to hear! I plan to add new drafts bi-weekly. I followed WP:PROF and constantly make use of WP:TeaHouse, Thanks for prompt action.. Have a great day! Raovikramnet (talk) 00:52, 26 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
