Opinions on proposal

I think your proposal is straightforward, easy to understand, and workable. Let's go with it. Cla68 (talk) 00:33, 21 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

A couple of suggestions:
  • Since not everyone can watch all the articles, all the time, perhaps a "Revisions noticeboard" should be set up for anyone to post requests for trusted editors to go and approve flagged revisions.
  • I personally don't have a clean block log, and I'm probably not the only one. What should the appeal process be for those without a clean block log who wish to become trusted editors? Cla68 (talk) 06:30, 21 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
The noticeboard seems like a good idea, either for editors who have not yet met the minimum editing standards or who fear a conflict of interest on pages in which they have been involved in disputes in the past. The way I see it, if you have had misdemeanors in your past, but have since reformed and are a constructive contributor that's no reason to be denied marker rights. However, there must be some level of accountability to the system. I'm sure admins handing out these tools will use discretion in deciding if people with infractions have truly put those troubles behind them. Random89 19:13, 21 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

See my compromise solution, possibly? Would it not be possible to present anybody opening Wikipedia with an initial screen asking whether they wish to see raw or only checked articles? --PL (talk) 10:44, 21 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
