Tulsa Race Riot edit

The contemporaneous news accounts of air activity are a great addition to the article! Someone will probably come along with a [citation needed], though, so I hope there's a link somewhere with more details. I left Tulsa in the mid '80s, just as interest in the race riots was starting to pick up, so it's good to see the information coming together. Now, if only someone could find a copy of that local paper... --Robertb-dc 19:10, 18 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

I don't know of any citation on the net, though here's the quote from the Tulsa Tribune I was referring to: "The men in the air were alert for movements of negores in the sections where shots were being fired from sniping stations at the advancing whites, and they often dipped low in their planes to pick out the exact positions of the barricades."

Oh, also--you're right about the missing paper. I doubt at this point it'll ever turn up, but like you'd, I would love to see it!

Westervelt Warner Museum edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Westervelt Warner Museum, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.warnermuseum.org. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 18:41, 31 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Actually, the bot is being a little paranoid, but it turns out that we already have an article about the museum at Westervelt Warner Museum of American Art. I've merged your new article into that one. Feel free to continue improving it. --Elkman (Elkspeak) 19:01, 31 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Unreferenced BLPs edit

Hello RalphEllison! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 938 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

Nat Turner lawyer redirects edit

I don't think they are independently notable; maybe we could create an article about all three of them (Lawyers involved in Nat Turner's slave rebellion or something?) and then redirect there. GiantSnowman 10:22, 22 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Greetings edit

Hello. I 'thanked' you for some of your article creations. I am definitely interested in working on articles about university professors/presidents in the Antebellum South, if you'd like to work together on a few projects. Over the years, I created some as well as articles about plantations/planters. Let me know on my talkpage if I can help further. Thank you.Zigzig20s (talk) 22:06, 18 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Southern Quarterly Review moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Southern Quarterly Review, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. I have worked it up some and will submit it for mainspace when I am able. Thank you for your work here. FloridaArmy (talk) 14:09, 13 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Draft:Southern Quarterly Review concern edit

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:Southern Quarterly Review, a page you created, has not been edited in 5 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:35, 27 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Your draft article, Draft:Southern Quarterly Review edit

Hello, RalphEllison. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Southern Quarterly Review".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! JMHamo (talk) 12:05, 26 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Hugh Alfred Garland, Jr. edit

Hello RalphEllison,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Hugh Alfred Garland, Jr. for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!
