Abdul Mannan Choudhury edit

I undid your edit to Abdul Mannan Choudhury as the article became a resume. Keep it encyclopedic. See wp:Manual of Style/Biography and WP:NOTRESUME Jim1138 (talk) 11:55, 20 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

You need to disclose your employer on your user page edit

Hello Rakib CIS. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, and that you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to Black hat SEO.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Rakib CIS. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Rakib CIS|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, please do not edit further until you answer this message. Ian.thomson (talk) 16:50, 20 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Also, see WP:COI and WP:OWN. Ian.thomson (talk) 16:50, 20 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

You still need to disclose your employer on your user page edit

As previously advised, your edits give the impression you have a financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. You were asked to cease editing until you responded by either stating that you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits, or by complying with the mandatory requirements under the Wikimedia Terms of Use that you disclose your employer, client and affiliation. Again, you can post such a disclosure on your user page at User:Rakib CIS, and the template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Rakib CIS|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. Please respond before making any other edits to Wikipedia. Ian.thomson (talk) 15:38, 27 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hello Ian, I am hereby to inform you that the page named "Abdul Mannan Choudhury" I am trying to edit, no one is paying me for editing. He is renowned person of my country but in Wikipedia there is only a little information about him. I found some authentic resources about him and trying to edit his information. Now can you please give me some suggestions what can I do to publish my information in Wikipedia. Each time I am trying to publish administrators are removing my edits.Thank you. --Rakib CIS (talk) 07:18, 8 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Abdul Mannan Choudhury edit

I saw your message on Ian.thomson.
Articles on Wikipedia should generally follow accepted practices. Your edits are making Abdul Mannan Choudhury look like a wp:resume which is not acceptable. It should read like an encyclopedia - see wp:tone. Avoid wp:peacock terms - use of words to inflate importance - i.e. "world's greatest".

  • Please look at other (preferably well-written) biographies to get an idea how they should appear and read. Examples of University of California chancellors:
  • See wp:Manual of Style/Biography for recommended layout.
  • On this version of your edit, the following sections: Work history, Administrative experience, Consultancy work experience, and Membership should not be added. This is the "resume" part that is a problem. The Publications section should be minimized to the most significant ones. Maybe 3-5 publications. The Awards section is unsourced and violates wp:verifiability.
  • Only proper nouns should be capitalized (other than first word in sentence): Author, Educationist and Columnist. He is the Vice-Chancellor - all of these are not proper nouns. The word "president" by itself would not be capped. "President of the United States" is a title and is capped.
  • On your page User:Rakib CIS/sandbox, as it is not an article avoid having wp:categories as they are automatically included in the listing. I disabled them by adding a colon ":" before "category" such as [[Category:Living people]] which I changed to [[:Category:Living people]]

I hope this helps. Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 08:30, 8 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
