July 2011 edit

Hello, Raegenhare, I saw that you made a draft for a new article at User:Raegenhare/Virtual Tales. Accoring to WP:STALEDRAFT, "Short term hosting of potentially valid articles and other reasonable content under development or in active use is usually acceptable (the template {{userspace draft}} can be added to the top of the page to identify these)." But in this case, you haven't edited your draft for a long time. If you are done, please donate it by moving User:Raegenhare/Virtual Tales to a Wikipedia:WikiProject Abandoned Drafts subpage (a participant may help). If you are not done, please finish it and move it. If you abandoned it, you may request it for deletion by putting "{{db-u1}}" or donating it. Thank you. Also,

I am going to move the 1th and the 3nd, but the 2nd, will not because that there is no point in that draft. I am donating it to the wikiproject above. ~~EBE123~~ talkContribs 18:57, 24 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi EBE123 -- Yes it's been awhile since I worked on these... I had almost forgotten about them. The article User:Raegenhare/Virtual Tales can be deleted as they are out of business. But the article User:Raegenhare/Cargo Hooks still needs a bit of work; I only referenced the Agusta and Bell helicopters that do external loadwork and Eurocopter has the most. Also, I have to add in more worldwide Aviation Authorities and links. I was surprised to see your recommendation that this article is ready but needs to be "Wikified." That's encouraging to me because I didn't think it was much good (though I really love the subject). I'm willing to do the work necessary to finish the article if you really think there is a possibility it will last more than 5 seconds if/when it's turned live. Since you have moved it out of my draft space, where would I go to work on it? I'll have to go to the library and check out the book on the helicopter models approved for lifting to complete that section, but I could finish off the Aviation Authorities section fairly quickly and add in those references. Let me know how to proceed. Thanks!

I will delete the page of Virtual tales, but you may continue working on it at Wikipedia:WikiProject Abandoned Drafts/Cargo Hooks. I like what you have done on Cargo Hooks. ~~EBE123~~ talkContribs 14:12, 25 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi EBE123 -- I started to add in more Aviation Agencies, but then I found a Wikipedia list of worldwide agencies, and referenced that at the bottom of the section. I could add in a few more of the larger agencies, but according to my friend (who is a licensed commercial helicopter pilot, and got me interested in this topic in the first place ;o), most of the international agencies simply rubberstamp STCs approved by the FAA, EASA or Transport Canada (because most of the helicopter manufacturers are located in the US, Canada and Europe). Both Brazil and Japan, however, require manufacturers to submit their FAA/EASA or Transport Canada STC documents to their agencies for review before you can sell/use equipment or accessories that attach to the airframe in their countries, so it's probably worth mentioning them as well. But I think the reference to the Wikipedia list will complete this section, aside from the highlighted mentions of the FAA, Transport Canada, EASA, ANAC and JCAA. As for the helicopter models and weight capacity section, I reserved the reference book through my library system and as soon as it gets into my local branch I will pick it up and complete the table. Then I think the article would be ready to publish, if you and/or the other Wikipedia editors agree it is ready for prime time. I am so excited. Thank you!

Here's the last thing, for the references, put them in a {{cite web}} form. You still have the ref tags but you put the info in a template. You may want to read the documentation at the template. After, I will get it to mainspace. ~~EBE123~~ talkContribs 22:25, 27 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
