Hello, RadRemi and welcome to Wikipedia! It appears you are participating in a class project. If you haven't done so already, we encourage you to go through our training for students. Go through our online training for students

If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Please also read this helpful advice for students.

Before you create an article, make sure you understand what kind of articles are accepted here. Remember: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and while many topics are encyclopedic, some things are not.

Your instructor or professor may wish to set up a course page, and if your class doesn't already have one please tell your instructor about that. It is highly recommended that you place this text: {{Educational assignment}} on the talk page of any articles you are working on as part of your Wikipedia-related course assignment. This will let other editors know this article is a subject of an educational assignment and aid your communication with them.

We hope you like it here and encourage you to stay even after your assignment is finished! —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 12:55, 5 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Response edit

Hi! I have some notes for you:

  • Avoid making absolute statements such as "This will lead to that". The only time we should use them is if it's a position that is widely held by scholars and authorities on the topic. This isn't too bad in the draft, but it's definitely there - attributing the claims will help resolve this.
  • When using books, it's important to cite the specific page(s) that the info is getting pulled from.
  • Your sourcing looks to be various chapters from the same book - it would be good to find other sourcing as well, to show a depth of coverage. Parenting and children in general are areas where there can be a big variety of opinions, especially when it comes to LGBT topics.
  • There's no need to have such an exhaustive list of places where people can turn to for help, as this would run the risk of being a collection of links or namedropping. It's better to just list a few notable examples. Keep in mind that while this can lead people to places that can help them personally, this isn't the goal of the page. The page is meant to be an encyclopedic overview of the given topic area.
  • Only the first word in a header should be capitalized unless it's the name of a person, place, or formal title (book, etc).

I hope this helps! Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 15:09, 4 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
