I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Draft:Chief Sielu, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

I can't find a place that tells me how to reply to a Talk Message like you have sent... I hope this is acceptable to do it as an edit/addition here? Yikes.

Thank you for your message with helpful feedback. I am a bit overwhelmed with the wikipedia world, but with all this extra time I thought I would give it a try. I lived in Hawaii for several years working at a kayak shop and for vacation rental homes. During that time, I fell in love with Hawaii - its landscape and culture. I don't think this should count as a bias, as I have never even spoken to Chief Sielu, and would not get paid for writing about him. I was shocked that there wasn't an existing article about him. I know about him because of going to his luau and being so positively impacted and intrigued. I would like to write more articles about the islands and its special people if I can get the hang of it.

I will work on edits to remove data that makes this article questionable. I removed YouTube links as citations, but did not remove the info about the shows that have such links online as I thought I had time to work on it before anyone would see it. I misunderstood the draft section! I have started working in "Creating User:RacheleWrites/sandbox/Chief Sielu" instead like you suggested. Thank you!

I am also struggling with the info box too. I tried studying other peoples info box templates for articles on notable people, but it doesn't show up in the preview.

Undisclosed paid editing

Please be aware that it is a violation of the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use to edit Wikipedia for pay unless the proper disclosure has been made. See WP:PAID for more information. If you are being paid to write about Chief Sielu, you need to make this disclosure too.

Even if you aren't being paid, if you have any association with Chief Sielu, you need to disclose that relationship. You can do so by replying here on your talk page.

I came across an advert on Freelancer to edit your draft. If that was your project on Freelance, and if the person you hire hasn't made a public disclosure of paid editing, your draft will either be deleted, or published with a label across the top saying that it has been edited for pay. Before you accept a bid, ask for proof of where the editor has disclosed their paid editing status on Wikipedia. I am 99% certain that none of them have.

I suggest you improve the draft and let the review process take its course. You'll get feedback, you make improvements, you resubmit.

I've seen Chief Sielu perform when I visited the Polynesian Culture Center many years ago, and I loved him. The assertions of notability you made in the article are sufficient to prevent the article from being speedily deleted for notability reasons if it is published in main article space. Hi Anachronist, Thanks for the suggestions and concern. I am not getting paid for this in anyway most unfortunately. If I were I would be glad to report it, no loss to me. I have never even met or spoken to Chief Sielu. I thought this would be a fun project about a very interesting and seemingly special person, but it turned into just a ridiculous amount of research and work that I keep hitting walls with anyway. I had no idea Wikipedia was so complicated to contribute to or that it would take so much time to learn and complete the process. I'm deleting my draft. This is not for me at this time.

Draft:Chief Sielu is a decent first draft, and I think he's worth writing about. I'd like to see an article on him.

Don't worry about the warnings you've received about conflict of interest and paid editing. You've clarified that you have no COI. Wikipedia:Assume good faith means that we trust you are working in good faith, just as you trust others are trying to make sure everyone is working for Wikipedia's goals, not the goals of clients or associates.

Writing a Wikipedia article isn't easy. It isn't like posting on a forum or blog. There's journalism and research involved (which you've done) as well as finding reliable sources, and learning how to format the page. Things get more complicated when it involves a biography of a living person — that certainly isn't the sort of task I'd tackle for my first article! Every single statement in the article absolutely must be backed up by a reliable source.

Update: I repaired the infobox, converted all the inline links to citations, and consolidated the occurrences of the same citation used multiple times. I didn't flesh out the citations with title, author, etc. except for the Midweek Magazine one.
