Aliens??

edit

Hello Rachel Vanderthorne. I notice that at the Teahouse query page, you have asked ". . . what is the basis to ask the aliens questions, . . . ?"

I don't understand what you mean by "the aliens", and I don't think anyone else here does either. To me this term might mean:

  • Extra-terrestrial beings;
  • People from a foreign country;
  • Elite riders in MotoGP motorcycle racing (a usage unknown to most people).

I doubt you actually mean any of those, so can you find a paraphrase or synonym we'll understand? Regards, {The poster formerly known as 87.81.230.195} 2.121.162.83 (talk) 20:52, 2 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi Rachel Vanderthorne! The thread you created at the Wikipedia:Teahouse, as a transgender person, i ask what is the basis to ask the aliens questions, should not we be asking you questions?, has been archived because there was no discussion for a few days (usually at least two days, and sometimes four or more). You can still find the archived discussion here. If you have any additional questions that weren't answered then, please feel free to create a new thread.

You may choose to edit under a new username (see information below), but keep in mind that you are welcome to continue to edit under this username.

If you choose to keep your current username, please send an email to info-en wikimedia.org including your real name and your Wikipedia username to receive instructions from our volunteer response team about account verification. Please do not send documentation without being requested to do so.

If you are not the person represented by this username, you are welcome to choose a new username (see below).

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our username policy guidelines and create the account yourself. Alternatively, if you wish for your existing contributions to carry over under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} below. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "Email this user" from their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a change of name request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use. Therefore, please check the list here to see if a name is taken prior to requesting a change of name.

I have received Ticket:2020101510014972. However, before unblocking, I need to confirm that you understand our policy on conflict of interest. I'm going to post a boilerplate message about COI below, which I expect you to read, and show that you understand how to edit about yourself, before unblocking you. Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, Rachel Vanderthorne. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. CaptainEek Edits Ho Cap'n! 20:35, 15 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
