Hi Rachael. I'm just wondering about the copyright tag for the Bōsōzoku image you uploaded and added to the article. It doesn't look like a political poster. Cheers Drcwright 17:05, 19 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Done.Thank you for the other day.Rachael J Lee 06:27, 21 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Jomon/Yayoi photo

edit

There is an extended debate over the text for the photo in question on the page Talk:Japanese people. Please discuss things there before reentering text. There is no direct indication as to who the poster was designed by on any of the pages relating to the exhibit, and that is one of the main things being discussed. Regarding the revert you did, I must inform you that my edit was not original research. The same source provided by the anonymous IP user contains 2 relavent sentences to our case: The original Chinese and the "translated" Japanese. The source of the edits stem from the fact that the Japanese "translation" added a sentence that was NOT originally there. Just as the anonymous IP user is reporting the "translated" Japanese, I am citing the original Chinese. And as I have indicated to that user, the conjured sentence may possibly have a place if it is clearly indicated that it is what it is - made up at the end of the Japanese "translation". I see. But I still think that your describing is based on the original research. Neways Im in support of his(or her) opinion. I apologize if I hurt your feelings.Rachael J Lee 06:19, 21 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
I think you're wofully confused. I will do exactly what you said should be done in Wikipedia - cite sources. And I will cite the Shuukan Bunka to exact text. There should therefore be no problems now that I'm citing the Shuukan Bunka now (again). Forget anything I ever said about making both points known, since only 1 is needed in your opinion. Hanfresco 22:30, 21 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
and just curious, how are you of Japanese ancestry if you're 1/2 Chinese and 1/2 Danish? Perhaps you mean it culturally? O.o Hanfresco 19:46, 20 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
well... perhaps it's difficult to explain.Rachael J Lee 06:19, 21 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
done. I did my best. Rachael J Lee 06:41, 21 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image:Shoko Nakagawa side.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Shoko Nakagawa side.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 48 hours after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Angr 11:00, 24 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Bosozoku Nagano.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Bosozoku Nagano.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Remember the dot (talk) 03:46, 15 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
