Proposed deletion of Dona Bertarelli edit

The article Dona Bertarelli has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Sitush (talk) 18:07, 20 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

May 2011 edit

  Hello Rabicat. If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Dona Bertarelli, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you.

I have received your email. You say therein that you are an employee of Ms Bertarelli. As such you probably should not be editing this article. You would need to maintain a neutral point of view (click on the blue link for an explanation). This can be difficult for a new contributor to do and, in any event, given what you have told me I would probably seek deletion under the grounds of it being promotional if you were to take things in the direction which you propose.

Regarding the content of your email, the details are under biographies of living persons, as stated near to the top of this page. Sitush (talk) 14:29, 22 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

You are welcome, and indeed encouraged, to edit or create other articles on Wikipedia. I am logged in most days and can probably answer any queries which you may have - just leave a note on my talk page. Best wishes. - Sitush (talk) 14:32, 22 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Conflict of interestt edit

HI, I am afraid that a lot of your edits to the Bertarelli article are contrary to policy. You have been advised previously that you would need to take extreme care if editing it because you are an employee of the article's subject. I would not have any objections to you adding sources for the information already there, provided that those sources were not connected to Bertarelli herself (ie: her charities, her companies, her personal websites etc). However, if you continue to add content to the body of the article then I think I may have to seek some sort of intervention because it is creating problems.

You do have a conflict of interest and it is unwise for (in particular) a new contributor to work on an article where such exists. You might in fact be blocked from editing anything at all if you persist in this. Sorry, but like all organisations and projects, Wikipedia has policies. - Sitush (talk) 10:56, 24 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

  Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed maintenance templates from Dona Bertarelli. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you.
