Hello, RManuel95, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Ian and I work with Wiki Education; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Lindsay Young

edit

Nice start on the Lindsay Young article. I noticed that very few of the sources you used are independent sources - they come from organizations that Young is associated with. You need to base your article primarily on independent reliable sources, both to demonstrate notability and to make sure that the information was independently reviewed and fact-checked. Hi Ian!
So there weren’t many resources which made it really difficult. If you have any ideas we’re open to it!
I have also reached out to Lindsay Young specifically and asked her permission and tried to do a mini interview with her (via email) and she also said that anything on her Pacific Rim website can be used as she stated that all of that is pretty accurate. 2600:1013:B00F:4AB5:4070:C980:9355:DFBA (talk) 15:05, 19 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Lindsay Young moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Lindsay Young, is not suitable as written to remain published. It appears there is a WP:UPE or WP:COI conflict. Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, and have addressed the UPE/COI issue, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. As per WP policy, please do not move into mainspace yourself. Onel5969 TT me 10:02, 20 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

This is really frustrating because although as editors trying to help us out, you won't explain to us or guide us to direct sources that would be deemed "verifiable sources". By being direct about which so called "sources" can't be considered verifiable can be very helpful to my group. We also don't understand the WP:UPE or WP:COI conflict you are stating. As stated before, we have received personal feedback from Dr. Young herself and can be proven through email. Unless you have other suggestions you should allow us to keep our page published. 2600:1013:B00D:C6D3:2D2B:CF21:931:8661 (talk) 10:08, 20 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

May 2023

edit

Hi RManuel95! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Lindsay Young that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you.
