Contested deletion

This page should not be speedy deleted as an unambiguous copyright infringement, because it has been thoroughly rewritten to avoid any appearance or actual copyright infringement, while still maintaining its informational integrity --RGluesen22 (talk) 04:09, 4 March 2014 (UTC)

• According to this there are still some phrases that a bit close to the original. I don't think this is a clear candidate for speedy deletion under copyvio, but there is still a little bit of work to be done to clean it up. SilkTork ^{✔Tea time} 10:44, 4 March 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for the feedback. I've made some more edits, but there are a few items that were flagged (for example: "7th on 6th fashions shows" and "minority person of the year") that are the actual names of the events and/or awards. Trying to rewrite them would be like trying to rewrite "the NAACP Image Awards" or "the Academy Awards". Let me know how you think it best to proceed. Thanks. -- Rich

Status and Advice

As reviewing administrator, I deleted it, but primarily for the promotionalism. The article seems clearly designed to enhance her career, not to provide neutral encyclopedic information about it. The overall tone is enthusiastic, not neutral: "to help people who were experiencing obstacles and challenges similar to those she faced throughout her career" is pure advertising. Many of the career details are unverifiable except as she gives them. Promotional writing is writing to present what the subject wants to say about themselves; encyclopedic writing is what the general reader might want to know. I am also concerned about notability. One of the top 50 minority women in a particular sector of a particular industry is not necessarily much of an indicator of importance. The other awards are local. I would advise waiting until her first book is published and has obtained substantial reviews from 3rd party independent published reliable sources, print or online, but not blogs or press releases, or reader comments. You might also want to consider writing an article about her magazine, if there are sufficient food references.
