How can I add a photo which I don't own --MirzaMohammedRz (talk) 12:28, 25 July 2024 (UTC)

MirzaMohammedRz, it depends on the licensing for the photograph. Can you provide any more details? — Qwerfjkltalk 16:41, 25 July 2024 (UTC)

Question from Sizya (21:43, 26 July 2024)

i want to write about something new --Sizya (talk) 21:43, 26 July 2024 (UTC)

Sizya, if you're looking for a topic to write an article about, I'd recommend Wikipedia:Requested articles. That said, creating a new article from scratch is extremely challenging, and new editors are strongly recommended to spend a few months learning how Wikipedia works, by making improvements to some of our existing seven million articles before trying it. When you do decide to have a go at a new article, you are highly encouraged to read WP:Your first article. If you haven't already also check out WP:TUTORIAL; it's a lot of fun! Happy editing! — Qwerfjkltalk 11:03, 27 July 2024 (UTC)

Bug/feature request for CFDLister

Hi Qwerfjkl! Hope you are doing well.

This is probably both the easiest and most nit-picky bug/feature request you will ever get. (Not sure whether to call it a bug or a feature.) Would you be able to change {{subst:nac}} to {{subst:nacd}} at User:Qwerfjkl/scripts/CFDlister.js#L-249? The former template is for regular NACs; the latter is for XfD NACs and links to WP:NACD, which is the guideline for XfD NACs. ({{subst:nac}} links to an essay.) Best, HouseBlaster (talk · he/they) 02:10, 31 July 2024 (UTC)

HouseBlaster, sure,   Done. I should also fix the styling at some point (the script should reduce the opacity of closed discussions, but it is broken due to HTML changes). — Qwerfjkltalk 08:58, 31 July 2024 (UTC)
... not, I suppose, that you need to perform NACs any more. Congratulations (again)! — Qwerfjkltalk 09:04, 31 July 2024 (UTC)
Thank you :) HouseBlaster (talk · he/they) 14:05, 31 July 2024 (UTC)

Question from LazyRedditor on Crown flash (14:43, 31 July 2024)

When uploading a video saved from my phone, what should I name the video file within the popup? --LazyRedditor (talk) 14:43, 31 July 2024 (UTC)

LazyRedditor, something appropriate to the video. — Qwerfjkltalk 14:53, 31 July 2024 (UTC)

Scripts++ Newsletter – Issue 25

Hi again! It looks like you forgot to process Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2024 July 13#Category:Year by category — used with year parameter(s) ≠ year in page title; would you be able to take care of listing it? Bringing it up in case there are others I am unaware of which you closed in the same session which also need to be processed :) HouseBlaster (talk · he/they) 03:23, 2 August 2024 (UTC)

HouseBlaster, thanks, not sure how I missed it. I've listed it now. — Qwerfjkltalk 08:18, 2 August 2024 (UTC)

Category:Works about villains

Hi. With this CfD you closed, you've said it will be renamed Category:Works with villain protagonists. But the propsal was changed to Category:Works featuring villain protagonists, which is what I agreed with in the discussion and no one mentioned the other title. If there was any consensus to rename, it should be to that title. Mclay1 (talk) 13:16, 3 August 2024 (UTC)

Mclay1, sorry about that, I've amended my close. — Qwerfjkltalk 14:12, 3 August 2024 (UTC)

Question from Eyeanow (01:30, 4 August 2024)

Can we cite to an individual person's linkedin or is that not consider a RS? --Eyeanow (talk) 01:30, 4 August 2024 (UTC)

Eyeanow, generally speaking, it is not reliable and should not be cited, especially for things like date of birth, but it depends on the specific case. — Qwerfjkltalk 11:11, 4 August 2024 (UTC)
