Speedy deletion of DDAD edit

A tag has been placed on DDAD, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per CSD A1.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. jonny-mt(t)(c) 08:38, 23 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

DDAD edit

Hi Quit Drinking Soda,

Regarding your question, I should point out that in tagging DDAD for deletion I did not make any claims about the acronym's notability; rather, I made a claim that your article does not establish its notability, which makes it subject to speedy deletion. While it is true that you will find many other acronyms on Wikipedia, they are there either because their usage is widespread or because they have established themselves in culture somehow--DNR is an example of the former, while FUBAR is an example of the latter.

If you want to establish notability for DDAD, you need to make sure to cite verifiable sources, as Wikipedia is not a place for original research. Looking over the guide to creating articles couldn't hurt, either. I've included a standard welcome template below this message which will provide you with links to some reading material that will hopefully help you understand Wikipedia policies and guidelines a little better. If you have any questions, please feel free to leave a message on my talk page. Thanks! --jonny-mt(t)(c) 08:51, 23 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
